Funny thing about fitness.
We all have our favourites.
Some people see heavy barbells on the board and suddenly their calendar magically opens up.
Others see running, rowing, burpees, long cardio, wall balls, or anything that asks them to breathe through their eyeballs… and attendance drops almost like clockwork.
I get it.
We all have biases.
We all have movements, workouts, and energy systems that make us feel strong, confident, and capable.
And we all have the stuff we would rather “accidentally” avoid.
But here’s the truth.
The things we avoid are usually the things that have the most to teach us.
That long cardio day?
That awkward gymnastics piece?
That heavy lift you are not great at?
That workout that makes you feel exposed?
That might be the wrench.
And sometimes choosing the wrench is exactly what we need.
A little extra discomfort today can make tomorrow just a little bit easier.
But we have to get okay with not feeling okay.
Not broken.
Not unsafe.
Not crushed.
Just challenged.
That is where coaching matters.
That is where community matters.
That is where having people in your corner matters.
Because doing the stuff you are already good at feels great.
But doing the stuff you usually avoid?
That is where things start to change.
So the next time you look at the workout and think, “Ugh, not that,” maybe that is the one you should come to.
Today we do the things others won’t, so tomorrow we can do the things others can’t.
See you in class.
Especially on the days you were thinking of skipping.
