Congratulations to Eliza and to Kiera on your excellent rides at Ontario's Lane's End Horse Trial on Sunday, August 31, 2025!

Because Eliza has been recognized already for another excellent performance during the season, this week the 2025 Zara's Legacy of Excellence saddle pad will be awarded to Kiera who also put in a superb performance at Lane's End. The OEA will be in touch with Kiera to get her a saddle pad, and will get some horse treats off of Eliza and Belfast Braveheart to acknowledge another super showing.

Congratulations to both riders!

Next up is Glen Oro Farm Fall Horse Trial on Sunday, September 14.

The OEA, the Zara Buren Memorial Foundation, and the Buren/Haque Family are delighted to announce a new initiative to support and acknowledge Ontario’s fabulous cohort of wonderful Junior eventers!

Zara’s Legacy of Excellence – which will run as a pilot project in 2024 – will recognize and reward the top-scoring Junior at each EC-sanctioned Horse Trial in Ontario (using a coefficient calculation across divisions) and will furnish year-end ribbons and prizes to the most successful Juniors competing at EV85 and up.

All Juniors riding at EV85 and above are eligible. No registration is required, and participation is free.

Zara’s Legacy of Excellence launches officially at Cherrylane HT 1 on June 15.

The top eligible Junior from Cherrylane will be identified and congratulated through the OEA’s social media on Monday, June 17, along with the two Juniors with the top scores at each of the Spring Horse Trials at Glen Oro and Grandview, who will be recognized, retroactively. All three will receive an embroidered Ogilvy saddle pad donated by the Zara Buren Memorial Foundation. The OEA and the Buren/Haque Family would like to thank Bahr Saddlery for helping make this happen!
