SWIPE RIGHT FOR MY HONEST ADVICE ➡️
With the wave of closures over the last 15 months, maintaining a fitness routine has been very challenging for a lot of folks (me included). I know that some of you are feeling really frustrated and behind schedule. You had fitness some big fitness goals for 2020/21 and the pandemic was a major set-back.
👉 You are discouraged with the start-again-stop-again routine, and having a hard time starting up...again.
👉 Some of you may have stepped away from fitness all together.
👉 You may feel like you are standing at the base of a very large mountain...looking waaaaay up...not quite sure how to start climbing and you can't see the peak.
And now that the restrictions are lifted, you feel the pressure to dive in headfirst and make up for all the lost time, right?
❌ WRONG!! ❌
I can guarantee you that going hard out of the gate is a recipe for disaster. I have seen it time and time again with my clients. The all-or-nothing schedule leads to a big crash and burn. And then you are back to square one.
So, instead of overcommitting and crashing, let's try something different...
Let's increase our commitment to exercise next week by 1 hour.
Yep you heard that right.1 hour. TOTAL
👉If you are starting from scratch, I would suggest breaking it up into 4 x 15 min sessions or 2 x 30 min sessions. Fit it in where you can and choose an activity that you ENJOY!
👉If you are already in a groove but still don't feel you are active enough, add an additional 1 hour activity session. This could be a gym day, a longer outdoor activity or a killer at home session.
