Well, that’s a wrap on 30 years of retail for me.
I want to thank my friends, family, and everyone who helped me pack up the shop. I really appreciate you guys more than you know.
It’s been quite a journey. I’ve learned a lot, worked hard, made mistakes, had some amazing times, and truly loved it. But now it’s time to move on.
Thank you to every person who ever walked through the doors of The Boarding House. The kind words and messages I’ve received have meant so much to me. When I started as a young man, I never imagined it would become what it did.
I still remember Brian Bauman telling me that one day I could have a million-dollar business. I laughed and thought, “Yeah, right.” He looked at me and said, “No, it could be. It’s all up to you.” Those words stayed with me.
Thank you to Doug Bauman for giving me my start in business, for all the advice, and for everything else you’ve done for me over the years.
Thank you to my dad, who has always been there for me, especially through some very hard times over the last five years.
Please continue to support local businesses. They are such an important part of our community. Over the years, I had the chance to employ a lot of young people, and I’m proud of that. It’s sad knowing that chapter has now come to an end.
And to all the Cyclepath Boys I’m really going to miss you. I couldn’t have asked for better neighbours, friends, and supporters. You have meant so much to me, and I’m going to miss walking over for those high-fives.
Thank you for 30 incredible years.
Love you all,
Scott
