Sport Calgary is a volunteer non-profit society, representing sport in the city of Calgary. As an advocate of sport, we strive to assist, support and influence the growth of sport in Calgary by:

• Playing a lead role in the implementation of the Calgary Civic Sport Policy, and ensuring it continues to create a vision for sport in Calgary from introductory to high performance levels.

• Continuall

y identifying and assessing the needs of the sport community.

• Acting as a resource for the sport community and facility stakeholders.

• Increasing the profile of sport in Calgary.

• Encouraging development and enhancement of appropriate facilities and the efficient utilization of current facilities.

• Fostering collaboration within the sport community and coordination of resources amongst stakeholders to develop and enhance facilities.

• Facilitating education and training to athletes, coaches, officials, administrators and volunteers by providing information and/or available resources.

• Encouraging the hosting of sport events in Calgary.

Calgary, let's talk gear closets. 🏒⚽🥍

You know the one — skates that got outgrown two seasons ago, shoulder pads that still have life in them, a goalie helmet just collecting dust. On June 20, for All Sport One Day, we're teaming up with KidSport Calgary Calgary Flames Sports Bank to make sure that gear finds its way to a kid who actually needs it.

Drop it off at either of our two locations:

🏟️ Westside Recreation Centre

🏟️ Genesis Centre

We're collecting neck guards, hockey shoulder pads (especially larger sizes), skates size 5 and up, jerseys, jills and jocks, goalie helmets, lacrosse shoulder pads, soccer shin pads — and plenty more.

Less than 24 hours until All Sport One Day!

Meet some of the Sport Calgary team working behind the scenes to bring this event to life. From coordinating with sport organizations and volunteers to managing logistics across 11 locations, they've spent months planning and preparing to create an unforgettable experience for thousands of participants.

Mark it down: June 20, 10AM, All Sport One Day is happening across Calgary — and it's free for the whole family.

Whether your kid wants to try rugby for the first time or you've been curious about fencing, this is the day to just show up and play. No equipment needed, no experience required.

Here's what to bring: water bottle, running shoes, athletic wear, sunscreen, snacks, and a jacket for the Calgary weather wildcard ☀️🧥 If you're trying ice sports, water sports, there's a bit of extra gear to grab — full list at allsportoneday.ca.

Some extra star power is joining us at All Sport One Day ⭐

We're excited to welcome Calgary Flames goaltender Devin Cooley, Calgary Flames alumni Tim Hunter and Colin Patterson, and Olympians Elena Gaskell and Anja Barugh. They'll be stopping by to meet participants, share their experiences, and help inspire the next generation of athletes.

Let's talk real numbers for a second. 👇

The average cost to get a kid into hockey for their first year? About $4,000. Registration, skates, pads, a stick, team fees... it stacks up fast, and for a lot of Calgary families, that's enough to say "maybe next year."

On All Sport One Day, that total is $0. Every kid gets to lace up, try the sport, and see if it's theirs. No gear to buy, no fees to pay, no excuses needed.
