Nina (she/her) is a yoga facilitator and photographer who creates grounded, supportive spaces for people to connect with their strength, softness, and resilience. Rooted in lived experience, her approach invites you to meet yourself exactly where you are and honor your own spark.

She will be leading Gentle Hatha and Slow Flow classes on Wednesdays. Nina is another one of our Shakti team members who incorporates harmonium and chanting into her classes.

‐---------------‐-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Harry Tinders is a Montreal-based yoga teacher and fiction author who offers accessible, inclusive practices rooted in breath, mindfulness, and the connection between body and mind.

With over a decade of study, including advanced training in India and a background in yoga therapy, he brings a grounded and thoughtful approach to his teaching.

He guides Steady Flow classes as well as Shakti's specialty Foundations class which emphasizes alignment, steady progression, and nervous system support, creating calm, supportive spaces where students can build strength, awareness, and confidence at their own pace.

-------------------------------------------

Meet , the founder behind Shakti Yoga.

Once our doors open, she will be guiding the Shakti Yoga classes...a yang/yin practice blending active asana with restorative yoga, blending both movement and rest within the same class.

Her classes are rooted in inclusivity, accessibility, and a trauma-informed approach, creating space for each person to move in a way that feels safe, supported, and true to them.

She is truly honored to share this practice with you.

-------------------------------------------

We’ve been quietly building something. A space rooted in care and shaped by community. Can't wait to share more soon!

The practice of tenderness is needed in every space of learning and movement. Each time we gather, our bodies hold stories and experiences that are often unseen yet deeply felt.

Teaching through a trauma-informed lens allows us to honour those stories and create spaces that feel safe for everyone.

In Canada, nearly three quarters of adults have lived through some form of trauma. Within this truth, we must recognize that marginalized communities such as Indigenous, Black, racialized, 2SLGBTQIA+, disabled, and gender diverse people carry a disproportionate amount of that trauma across generations.

Trauma does not live only in memory; it roots itself in the body, shaping how we move, breathe, and connect. The symptoms we often label as disruptions are, for many, the body’s way of trying to keep us safe.

Understanding this changes how we teach, how we learn, and how we relate.

Every student deserves to learn in spaces that honour the body’s natural wisdom without shame or stigma.

Every teacher has the opportunity to build that kind of care. Choose teachers who center safety, respect, and humanity. 🤍

Hello dear friends,

After sleepless nights, deep reflection and number crunching, I’ve come to the conclusion that I can no longer financially afford to keep Shakti Studio open in its current format. The studio has been operating at a compounding loss for months now, and I can no longer cover these growing losses out of pocket.

With that said, Shakti will be closing its virtual doors at the end of March. I was holding on in the hopes that student interest and subscribership would start going up again, but I’ve held out as long as I can, and interest has only seemed to decrease.

Livestream classes will be moved under the Angela Boismenu site/name, the number of classes will be cut down to 3 a week (that will be taught by me) and www.shaktistudio.ca will be officially shut down once it’s yearly subscription with Squarespace is over at the end of the year. Your Ubindi account will remain the same, and all existing class passes will be usable with the new format. Unfortunately, monthly livestream subscriptions will be phased out, and be replaced by single classes and 10 class packs. Please take note of your next renewal date so you can cancel beforehand. Livestream class replays will go back to how we did it in the past, by sending out a link to access the replay for up to 24 hours.

If you have a yearly Shakti Membership for video on demand and replays, this will not be affected until the end of the year, when it will be cancelled. You will have access to all the replays and content that is currently uploaded, but no new content will be added. If you would like to transfer your subscription over to Angela Boismenu, please let me know. This is where new content will be added once the members area has been set up. If you have a monthly one, it’s really up to you when you’d like to cancel. As no new content will be added, it may be more advantageous to cancel earlier.

If you’d like to keep getting information on livestream classes, yoga in the park, live events and other yoga and health related things, please join my personal mailing list. You can find this on my website (www.angelaboismenu.com)

I want to thank you so much for your commitment to your practice, your shared energy and your support of this studio and it’s community over the past year and a half. It has meant the world to our teachers and myself. Thank you.

You are loved and appreciated.

Stay safe, breathe deep, and be kind to one another.

Check out Johanna's message for 2022.

Welcome 2022 ✨ Hoping that it will bring health, joy, peace and health to all. I know this year sounds like "2020 too" and yes, it will bring it's own challenges. Nevertheless, I can never be too grateful to still be here with my mother and family in good health. The more time flies, the most essential takes more importance. I wish you plenty of beautiful moments with the ones you love and hold dear. This life is precious and even better when it is shared.

I am thankful to share each week with the members of the .shakti.studio community. I grateful to connect and deepen my practice with you. I love how mutual inspiration helps us stay strong off the mat. I am looking forward to a New Year of journeying with you again!

Best wishes and love to all!💖
