We are extremely excited to share that this morning, Sienna accepted the scholarship offered to her from the University of Vermont. It is a perfect fit for Sienna from both an academic and athletic perspective. They had a plan outlined for her to achieve her goal of becoming a medical doctor, which was our priority in searching for a post secondary institution. It felt like family when we met the coaches and players. We also have a few interesting connections we discovered on our visit.
We must take the opportunity now to thank so many. First and most importantly, Coach YC and J. Addison (Dr. J, Coach Dale) for taking Sienna in as a small grade 8, and helping her become this talented, strong young woman. All the players and coaches who have worked with Sienna going back to her days in house league. All of you have had a hand in her development. A huge thank you to our immediate friends and family, of course! A thank you to the Raptors fam, as they have been cheerleaders and supporters of Sienna since she was 9 years old and have given her great opportunities to love the game. An extra special thank you to her big brother Peter who has always been so proud of Sienna's accomplishments and pushed her to be her best. Those 1 v 1 battles that he put her through, made her the physically and psychologically tough player she is. ♥️
I could go on and on....it's a long list of people to thank. Apologies if I did not get to you in this post, but do know we see you and thank you.🙏🏾
Sienna sacrificed a lot for her academics and athletics. She didn't have the "normal" teenage experience. All she has done for the last five years is study, ball, and work, so it is nice to see those sacrifices pay off.
Can't wait until the 2025/2026 NCAA season!
