🇨🇦🎱 Best Worlds Finish Yet in Norway 🇳🇴
Top 12 in the World. 🤯
My run at the 2026 Heyball U19 World Championships in Oslo, Norway has come to an end, and I finished tied for 9th to 12th place in the world.
Not gonna lie, this one hits different.
Norway wasn’t my first World Heyball Championship. I’ve also competed in India and Australia, but this was my best result yet. Every world event teaches me something new, and this time I was able to put all that experience together and make my deepest run so far.
For anyone wondering why some of the scores look different, Heyball matches are played to a set number of games or a time limit, whichever comes first. Sometimes players reach the target score and sometimes the clock runs out first. If a match is running long because of difficult layouts, safeties, or missed opportunities, referees can introduce a 30 second shot clock near the end of the match.
One of my matches ended tied when time expired. I was leading before my opponent tied it up, forcing a shootout.
And no, this isn’t your average shootout.
The cue ball and 8 ball are placed between the second last diamond in the middle, and each player has 30 seconds to make the shot. Nail biter but I got that one 2 to 1. 😅
Heyball is also a completely different challenge. It is played on 9 foot tables with pockets that are much tighter, making shot making and control extremely important. Spin, sometimes you just can’t use it! One mistake can change everything.
My loses came down to one game. I lost my first match, fought back with two wins, including the shootout victory, and then lost by just one game again!
That’s what makes me proudest. I wasn’t just there for the experience. I was actually competing this time.
Every player at this event was incredibly talented and represented their countries with pride. The level of play was amazing, and I learned something from every match I played and watched.
A special congratulations to Antonio Ayala on his Top 3-4 finish in the boys division. Making the semi-finals at a world championship is an incredible accomplishment and shows just how strong the competition was this week. 👏🎱
I also want to give a huge thank you to Samm Diep, for her encouragement throughout the event and for quietly making a small special birthday celebration happen while we were in Norway. It meant a lot and is something I won’t forget. ❤️

India ➡️ Australia ➡️ Norway. Every time I step onto the Heyball world stage, I get a little stronger, a little smarter, and a little more confident.
