Dear Ontario Positive Asians - OPA+ Members and Community Allies:

PLEASE REGISTER AND SHARE WITH YOUR NETWORKS.

Ontario Positive Asians (OPA+) and ACAS (Asian Community AIDS Services) would like to invite you to join us at the 2024 PADENA In Canada Virtual Conference. This year, PADENA 2024 will be an open event for Asians living with HIV as well as members of the public.

(Positive Asian Diasporic Experiences in North America) is a gathering of Asian* people living with HIV, featuring presentations by Asian PHAs, subject matter experts, service providers, peer workers, artists, activists, researchers, and community members. (*Including East, Southeast, South, Middle Eastern/West Asians, and Indo-Caribbeans.)

Four online sessions will take place between February and March 2024.

Session 1 (February 15th 2024, 7:00pm to 8:30pm Eastern Time)
Presenters and topics:
-Kero Saleib (Collective resiliency and the current landscape)
-Christian Hui (Poz Asian Action: Global and Local Advocacy)

Session 2 (February 27th 2024, 7:00pm to 8:30pm Eastern Time)
-Moe Akel (Resilience against multiple loss and the complex current and local events facing the Poz Asian and newcomer/migrant/refugee settlers)
-Peter Lee (Asian, aging and HIV)

Session 3 (March 12th 2024, 7:00pm to 8:30pm Eastern Time)
-Asya Gunduz (Regional HIV Epidemiology and Ontario's Action Plan)
-Yasir Ali Khan (Successful Journey of Activism and Leadership)

Session 4 (March 27 2024, 7:00pm to 8:30pm Eastern Time)
-Aan Rianto (Can we end HIV?)
-Jemma Samitpol (Overview of Trans- and Community-Led Approaches of Comprehensive HIV Testing and Care)

Participants will have a chance to enter a draw for a $30 CAD gift card at each session, after the completion of an evaluation survey.

PADENA is proudly presented by Asian Community AIDS Services (ACAS) and Ontario Positive Asians (OPA+), with the generous support of Gilead Health Sciences, and Canadian Association For HIV Research.
