It's been one heck of year for sure!
From starting my own business after getting let go from my corporate 9 - 5 job the first week of January, to flying home to celebrate milestone birthday for the first time in almost 20 years, cheering on thousands of you runners at Spring Run Off, TO Waterfront 10K, and then the TO Waterfront Half with the Run to Beer crew (and yes handing out beer every time), to completing my first 100km bike ride one casual Sunday morning in June. Also, cheering on my best friend complete the Manchester Half after I pulled out due to injury, sorry about that!
I officially become an Olympic distance Triathlete with the goal to come back even stronger for the 2026 season, thanks to a lot of physio, and coaching from Lio, who not only got me to the finish line with a strong finish, but more importantly got me to the starting line when I was seriously doubting myself. Let's just say July was a confidence crisis month for me (work and race wise).
I've started pushing myself to get out more too, which from this introverts perspective (yes, I am an Introvert), is very hard to do, but also just getting comfortable with going out and enjoying live music solo, or with friends, or trying new-ish activities like kayaking, skating, hyrox, became a band-wagon Blue Jays fan, and public speaking.
The lessons I've learnt from 2025 gives me hope for 2026 and beyond, and gives me something to look forward to as I navigate the final year of my 30s. So here's to you, 2025, you have taught me a lot about not just who I was, but who I am, and who I can become moving forward.
Cheers!
