The Granite’s 150th Anniversary year continues and yesterday was our Ice Show, which was an amazing event that showcased so many of our skaters at all levels.
Although I don’t often bring out my “choreography scarf” on a day to day basis, I did for this occasion, and even dusted off the skates for a couple of numbers. The club has been a huge part of my life since I first started skating there at age 14 and I then continued after my competitive days as a Coach to supplement income for school. I never imagined that I’d still be kicking around the second floor of this place over 35 years later! However, after watching how this show came together under Cheryl’s guidance and the smiles and joy it brought to the skaters from ages 4-40, there’s no place I’d rather be!
Thank you to the Granite management, the skating office, the members, and, of course, my fellow coaches, who have made me feel so comfortable and welcome over the years doing what I love!
