BIKEPOC is a social cycling group for BIPOC who identify as women, trans, and non-binary who enjoy riding bicycles.

Our mission is to create a safer space, create more exposure, and build a community for folks like us.

Our first workshop of the season 🌸🌸

Come learn about cycling in the city including bike safety tips, basic bike maintenance, selecting bike accessories and more! This workshop is perfect for new cyclists and seasonal riders.

📍Location: Bikechain - 230 College St. Entrance is off of Huron St.

🗓️ Date: Wednesday May 3rd at 6:30pm.

✌🏽Free and no RSVP needed. Workshop is only for Women, Trans, Femme, Non Binary BIPOC.

Hey everyone! I know its been a while but we are back with a couple announcements and updates. ‼️‼️

1. BIKE MATCH PROGRAM- we are not accepting any new recipients this year. We are still working through our waitlist from last year and connecting the last few folks with bikes. If you have received a bike from us, please tag us in your post/story so we can share it on our feed! 🚲📸

2. PARTNERSHIP RIDE w/ Town of Ajax - we are stoked to be joining the Town of Ajax on their Women of Colour bike ride happening on Saturday May 6. We are also looking for a fellow bipoc cyclist to help assist with this ride. If you are interested or know someone who may be, please DM us for more info, monetary compensation will provided.

3. BI WEEKLY RIDES RESUMING - excited to finally ride with everyone again. We will be announcing our first ride of the season shortly so please keep your eyes peeled for upcoming posts. First ride will be in May.

4. DONATIONS - We are looking for bike donations and bike accessories such as helmets, bells, bike lights and locks for our bike match program. Please DM us for more details.

5. VOLUNTEER OUTREACH - Want to get more involved with BIKEPOC? we are looking for new folks to help with leading and assisting with our social rides/workshops, social media management and more! DM us to join our Discord and get connected.

aaaand we’re back! 🎉

Super pumped to announce that we will be running the BIKEPOC Bike Match program for a third year now! Thank you to everyone who has made this program v successful and for all the sweet words we’ve received. We also have made a few tweaks to the program so things can run a lot smoother and folks will see bikes quicker.

NO RAIN YALL 🎊

📢 JOIN US TOMORROW FOR OUR FIRST RIDE OF THE SEASON 📢

We’ll meet at Christie Pits Park (Bloor/Christie entrance) at 6:15pm and then roll out at 6:30pm. This will be a 10km (one way), social, no drop ride. We will be riding a loop and ending at Grange Park for a hang/vegan donuts! 🍩

Start time: Meet 6:15pm, Rollout 6:30pm
Start location: Christie Pits Park
End location: Grange Park (OCAD)
End time: 8pm
Difficulty: Beginner friendly, no drop

*No-drop means no one gets left behind, we will be riding at a leisure pace
**This ride is reserved only for BIPOC who identify as Women, Trans, Femme, Non-Binary
***BIPOC stands for Black, Indigenous, Person(s) of Colour ✌🏽

New Bike Day! 🚲

We connected Jana to this lovely orange Raleigh. They will be using this bike for mainly commuting around the city.

Thanks always to for tuning/repairing bikes for this program. As well as to everyone in the community who has donated a bike to us, to help make this happen.

Also super excited to announce that is one of our new partner bike shops that will repair/build more bikes for our Bike Match program.🎉

Very stoked to have connected this bike with Yasmine. She will be using it for commuting around the city and is also planning a fun bike trip for the summer! ☀️

- Dura Ace drivetrain
- Comes with Spd SL pedals

This bike is wonderful for someone who wants to get into long distance road riding, not ideal for city commuting.
