Dear Halton Minor Flag Football Families,
It is with a heavy heart that we share some incredibly sad news with our league community. Our beloved Coach Greg has unfortunately passed away. Greg was a massive part of our football family leading our Bantam Jets to a championship last fall season. His warmth, dedication, and passion for mentoring our young athletes left an undeniable mark on all of us.
His larger than life personality, smile, laugh, sarcastic wit and bantering on college game days and NFL Sundays are things I will miss as he and I formed a friendship almost instantly we we met last fall when he came to pick up his coaches bag from me to join the league with his son Huxley. The Ohio State Buckeys and Minnesota Vikings lost one of their biggest fans. Others may have known Greg throughout the Milton community as well as basketball and lacrosse circuits.
During this devastating time, our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his wife and children. As a community, we want to wrap our arms around them and help ease some of the burdens they are facing through this incredibly difficult journey.
To support them, we are organizing a collection to donate money directly to his wife and kids. We want to make this as easy and seamless as possible for everyone, so instead of doing digital transfers, we will be placing a physical donation box out at the field on Saturday mornings during our games.
Please know that there is absolutely no pressure, and no amount is too small. Whether you are able to give $5, $10, or whatever you are comfortable with, please know that every single dollar makes a meaningful difference. We will be collecting these donations over the next couple of weeks, and we will be presenting everything directly to his family on behalf of the entire Halton Minor Flag Football community. Alternatively should you wish to donate to the gofundme page set up for Greg here is the link

In addition to the donation box, a portion of all proceeds raised from the raffles will go directly to support Greg's family as well, allowing us to honor his memory and give back to the family he loved so much.
Thank you all so much for your kindness, your generosity, and for showing what it truly means to be a family. Let's stand together and show our strength through the Halton community for Coach Greg and his family.
