📣 HEY CALGARY, GlobalFest is back and it’s bigger this year!

If you’re looking for something fun to do with the family this weekend, add GlobalFest to your list! 🌎✨

For the first time, the festival is taking over Spruce Meadows from August 27–30, bringing four nights of international culture, food, music, entertainment and spectacular fireworks.

And each night has its own theme:

🇯🇵 Thursday, Aug. 27 — Japan Night
🇲🇽 Friday, Aug. 28 — Mexico Night
🇮🇹 Saturday, Aug. 29 — Italy Night
🌎 Sunday, Aug. 30 — World Finale

✨ NEW THIS YEAR: GlobalFest is also featuring Alberta’s largest-ever drone show, with 600+ drones lighting up the night sky alongside the fireworks!

Before the fireworks, you can explore 20+ cultural pavilions, international food vendors, live performances, a night market and family activities — so there’s plenty to do before the sky lights up.

📍 Spruce Meadows
📅 August 27–30, 2026

Save this for your Calgary weekend plans and tag someone who needs to see this drone show and fireworks! 🎆

Lol.

That’s about the only way to react to this toddler down south constantly having his tantrums and being a constant troll.

That’s okay though. Lake Ontario has had its name before the USA was even the USA.

The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari’io, which, appropriately, means “the lake is beautiful, the lake is big”.

The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.

So, while babies are always changing the name of things, like pagetti instead of spaghetti, the rest of us will continue on with real life.

Again, lol

Apparently, suspension bridges are becoming their thing... 😅

One of the highlights of our Northern Ontario road trip was watching our girls confidently walk across Canada’s longest suspension bridge, just outside Thunder Bay.

Fun fact: this wasn’t their first suspension bridge! Early this summer, they crossed Canada’s highest suspension bridge in Golden, British Columbia.

If you’re planning a Thunder Bay or North Shore of Lake Superior road trip, this stop is absolutely worth adding to your itinerary.

✨ Save this for your next Ontario family road trip, and send it to someone who loves exploring Canada with their kids.
