Canaqua Sports to Sanction with Triathlon Associations
In October 2025, at their world conference, World Triathlon added SwimRun to its Multisport Division. This brings Swimrun from a tertiary sport to one that is now recognized worldwide.

For Canaqua Sports, as one of the pioneers of Individual swimrun and one of the largest Swimrun companies in the world, it meant only 1 thing. To keep on growing we needed to become a part of the triathlon world by sanctioning our events. What we are already finding after a trial run in 2026 with 4 events, is that the added publicity alone will help us grow and is already bringing attention to all of our events, not just swimrun.

As part our move to World Triathlon, for the 2027 season, we are happy to be adding Aquathlon to our events, giving a wider variety of races to go along with Open Water Swimming and Trail Running.

It is safe to say that our Mudskipper Events, Powered by Canaqua Sports is now a true Multisport company

Endurance athletes worldwide now have two new disciplines under the sport's global governing body.
