For a lot of this Finals run, Victor Wembanyama has looked like the young superstar carrying an enormous burden, similar to how LeBron James dragged the Cavaliers to the 2007 Finals before running into a more complete team. Wemby put up huge numbers, made game-changing defensive plays, and gave Spurs fans hope every night, but basketball is still a team game. The Knicks had more answers late in games, and the Spurs’ Game 4 collapse from a 29-point lead ended up being the turning point of the series.
