A lot of people think healing means either:

Ignoring their feelings or staying in them forever.

But there’s another option. 💫

First, we acknowledge the feeling. We let ourselves be honest about what’s there. We stop fighting it or pushing it away.

And then, little by little, we can start shifting it. 💜

Not by pretending everything is okay. Not by forcing positivity.

But by gently helping ourselves move toward a different emotional state.

Sometimes that looks like:

✨Going outside for fresh air. ✨Calling someone safe.
✨Moving your body.
✨Listening to music.
✨Finding one small thing to feel grateful for.
✨Doing something that helps you feel grounded or connected again. 🌳

Feelings are meant to move.

The goal isn’t to never feel hard things. It’s learning how to move through them without getting stuck there.

What’s something that helps you shift your energy when you’re having a hard day?

When you feel overwhelmed, it’s okay to come back to simple things. 🌸

✨ Feel your feet on the ground

✨ Take one slow breath

✨ Look around the room and notice what feels safe

✨ Put a hand on your chest and soften your shoulders

✨ Remind yourself:
I only need to take one next step right now

You don’t have to fix everything at once.

You don’t have to figure it all out in this moment.

Sometimes a small pause is enough. 💫

What helps you feel grounded when things feel like too much? 💖

Self-care while healing from trauma doesn’t always have to be big.

Sometimes it looks like: 💫

❤️‍🩹 Taking a few deep breaths before your day starts

❤️‍🩹 Going outside for a few minutes

❤️‍🩹 Drinking water and eating something nourishing

❤️‍🩹 Putting your phone down when you feel overstimulated

❤️‍🩹 Letting yourself rest without trying to earn it

❤️‍🩹 Reaching out for support when you need it

The small things matter.

Healing doesn’t always need another big breakthrough.

Sometimes your body just needs small moments of safety, care, and support. ✨

What’s one small thing that helps you feel grounded lately? 🌷

Something people don’t always talk about is how healing can feel uncomfortable at first. 🧚

Setting a boundary can feel uncomfortable.

Resting can feel uncomfortable.

Listening to your intuition can feel uncomfortable. 🪷

Not because it’s wrong.

Sometimes it just feels unfamiliar because you’re used to doing things a different way.

Your body is still learning that slowing down is safe.
That saying no is okay.
That you can trust yourself. 💜

That takes time.

And uncomfortable doesn’t always mean you’re going backwards.

Sometimes it means things are starting to shift. ✨

Sometimes what looks like laziness is actually overwhelm.

Carrying too much can make even small things feel hard.

Before judging yourself, pause and ask:
What am I holding right now? 🤍

This is something I still notice in myself sometimes.

Rest can feel really uncomfortable.

Not because I don’t need it…
but because slowing down can bring up a lot.

Sometimes trauma teaches us to stay busy so we don’t have to think too much or feel too much.

And sometimes it can turn into people-pleasing too.

You keep going.
Keep helping.
Keep doing.
Keep pushing yourself.

Because somewhere along the way it can start to feel like being productive, useful, or taking care of everyone else is what makes you worthy of love. 🪷

Sometimes it’s about avoiding what’s underneath.
Sometimes it’s about trying to earn love.
And sometimes it’s both.

That’s why rest can feel uncomfortable.

Because rest asks us to slow down enough to feel what’s there…
and trust that we’re still worthy even when we aren’t doing anything at all. 🤍

I still have to remind myself of that sometimes.

✨ Does slowing down ever feel uncomfortable for you too?

Healing takes courage.

It takes courage to look at painful things instead of continuing to avoid them.
To feel feelings that feel uncomfortable.
To be honest about what hurt.

And then to still offer yourself compassion through all of it.

That part matters too.

Because healing isn’t about judging yourself for what happened or forcing yourself to “move on.”

Sometimes it looks like acknowledging your story… and being a little gentler with yourself while you work through it. 🤍

🧚‍♀️ What’s one way you can offer yourself a little compassion today?🧚‍♀️

People avoid feelings because they think it will make things worse.

But avoiding them often keeps them stuck.

Practices like tapping can help us stay present with uncomfortable emotions without feeling overwhelmed. 🤍

So if you need it today, take a minute and follow along.

Feelings are meant to move.

A big part of healing is learning how to sit with uncomfortable feelings instead of avoiding them.

But healing also isn’t about living in those feelings forever. 🌷

Sometimes people swing from one extreme to the other.

They go from avoiding emotions…to over-identifying with them.

Constantly sitting in the heaviness.Replaying the pain.Staying stuck in the same emotional state.

At some point, healing also asks us to gently shift.

To notice moments of gratitude.Moments of peace.Moments of joy, safety, connection, or hope. 🤍

Not to deny the hard feelings. Not to pretend everything is positive all the time.

But because we weren’t meant to stay stuck in survival forever.

What’s the point of doing all this healing work if not to find a little more joy, peace and lightness along the way? 🪷

We’re allowed to feel the hard things…and also slowly move toward lighter ones.

🤔What’s one small thing bringing you a little peace, joy, or gratitude lately?
