The Phoenix Championship of Bowls

Great day at James Gardens Lawn Bowling Club where we held this years version of the Phoenix Championship of Bowls. Conditions were ideal and lead to competitive and close games, including the final that went to the last bowl.
Congratulations to the Canadian Bowler, Darryl Fitzgerald and his partner John Bezear for winning the tournament and taking home the $1,500 first place prize. Second place went to the team of Laura Seed and Dave Anderson who won $500.
Equal thirds went to the father son team of Bob and Mike Bester and Jake Masterson and Erik Galipeau. Both these teams won $150 each.
Our Golden Toucher winner of $200 was Jack Fowler and Bob and Mike Bester took home a prize pack from Wellington Brewery for being the Ultimate End winners.
Huge thanks to all who came out.

We are ready to go with our September 16th Phoenix Championship of Bowls Challenge tournament. We are playing this year at Port Credit LBC.

This open pairs tournament will be limited to 16 teams and have an entry fee of $100 per team. We will guarantee $1,000 for first place.

Hello Everyone,

The bowls season is just around the corner... I'm already starting to smell some cut greens out there.
I wanted to update you on the PCOB for this season. Initial plans were to run two events this year, one in May and the other in September.
With the calendar looking pretty full already, I am going to pull back for this year and run only one event on September 16 at Port Credit LBC.
Our primary sponsor Haven on the Q will be providing lunch and topping up the prize money to make one of the highest-paying single-day bowls events in the country.
I will get the registration for the tournament open shortly and we will be limiting entries to 16 open pairs teams only.
I hear rumors the tournament calendar may be a bit different next year - we will look to add a couple of more events in 2024.

The PCOB is gearing up for the 2023 season! We are so excited to announce two tournaments this summer. Mark Saturday, May 27, for Challenge 1 (Guarantee $1,000 for 1st) and Saturday, September 16 for our Championship tournament. (Guarantee $2,500 for 1st). Both will take place at Port Credit LBC. Registration will open on Saturday, February 18 @
