Looking back over 25+ years, If I were to start over, this is what I would do to build a career I actually love… faster.

I would stop chasing job titles that looked impressive but left me exhausted.
A successful career means nothing if you are disconnected from yourself while building it.

I would spend less time trying to prove I belong………and more time building my confidence to take up space, use my voice, and trust my instincts.

I would stop pretending burnout was ambition. Working hard matters of course but sacrificing your health, joy, relationships, and identity for work is not the flex corporate culture taught us it was.

I would build my career around my values, strengths, energy, and the life I actually want not just what looked good on paper or what other people expected me to want.

The right career should amplify your life… not consume it!

This is the work I now help women do every single day.

To stop performing success…
and start building careers and lives that actually feel aligned, meaningful, and fulfilling no matter what life has thrown at them.

If you’re ready to elevate your leadership, reconnect with yourself, or make a bold career shift - let’s connect. 🤍

I just had a birthday. I’m not midlife. I’m mid- midlife :-).

Wherever you are in this season, here’s what I know :

Midlife is not a crisis.
It’s the biggest wake-up call of your life.

It’s the moment you realize you can’t keep abandoning yourself just because everyone else is comfortable with the version of you that overfunctions, overdelivers, overextends, and quietly survives.

Is the version of you that recognizes whatever path and story you’ve been on to date can absolutely change moving forward if that’s your heart’s desire.

It’s the season where you start asking harder questions:

Do I even like the life I built or maybe signed up for and agreed to?
When did I stop feeling like myself?
Why am I so exhausted all the time?
Why does success suddenly feel so empty?

And maybe the most important question of all:

What would happen if I stopped living this life that doesn’t feel like mine and start living for me for once?

Midlife has a way of pulling everything to the surface.

The burnout.
The pretending.
The people-pleasing.
The career that looks great on paper and in your bank account but is slowly destroying your soul, day by day.

Here’s the beautiful part.

This season is also where women begin to reclaim themselves.

Their voice.
Their confidence.
Their boundaries.
Their leadership.
Their joy.

I see it every day in the women that I coach.

Midlife is not the unravelling people warn us about.

For many women, it is the first time they finally wake up enough to build a life that actually feels theirs.

“Honestly? I did it for the money.
But I know I’ll never do it again.”

I think more women feel this than they admit out loud.

I stayed in that job far too long.

Sometimes you stay because the salary is good.
The title looks impressive.
The benefits matter.
The golden handcuffs are real. Tight and real.

And in midlife especially, the stakes can feel high.
Mortgages. Children. Aging parents. Financial recovery. Stability. Fear.

So you convince yourself:

“It’s fine.”
“I should be grateful.”
“Maybe this is just what work is.”

But there is a cost to staying too long in places that disconnect you from yourself.
Not just burnout and not just exhaustion.

A slow erosion of confidence.
Creativity.
Voice.
Joy.
Identity.

I’ve learned something through leadership, coaching, and rebuilding my own life more than once:

Everything you need to begin again already exists within you.
Your insight.
Your capability.
Your resilience.
Your experience.
Your wisdom.

Coaching is not about “fixing” you.
It’s about helping you remember yourself again.

Helping you hear your own voice underneath the noise of fear, expectations, titles, and survival mode.

The money matters. Of course it does.
But never at the cost of abandoning yourself completely.

Never again. Trust me on that.

I once coached someone who told me:
“ I just want to go away . Somewhere, where no one knows my name or needs anything from me.”

I think I understood this more than she realized.

It wasn’t that she was weak or that she was incapable.

There is a particular kind of exhaustion that high-functioning women carry that rarely gets spoken about honestly.

The exhaustion of being needed everywhere.
At work.
At home.
Emotionally.
Mentally.
Professionally.
The exhaustion of being the steady one.
The capable one.
The emotionally intelligent one.
The resilient one.
The woman everyone assumes is “fine” because she continues to perform beautifully under pressure.

I think many women don’t actually want to disappear.
They just want relief from constantly holding everything together and being everything to everyone.

And this is one of the surprising signs you might need a leadership coach.

It’s not because you’re failing.
But because somewhere along the way, you stopped having space for yourself inside your own life!

Leadership coaching is rarely just about leadership.

Sometimes it’s about:
• learning how to hear yourself think again
• understanding what your exhaustion is trying to tell you
• reconnecting to ambition without self-abandonment
• leading without carrying the emotional weight of everyone around you
• remembering that your value is not tied to your level of depletion

The women I coach are often incredibly successful but many are quietly asking themselves:
“Why does my life feel this heavy when I’ve worked so hard to build it?”

This question matters and you deserve support before burnout becomes the only thing forcing you to stop.

Lead well. Live fully.

Attention All Midlife Women!

Here’s your weekend reminder!

“I am worthy of love and happiness. Now. ”

It’s interesting how often I have to remind women of this - over and over again.

Really strong, capable women but time and time again, their lives get in the way of themselves.

Somewhere between leadership, caregiving, heartbreak, survival, ambition, responsibility, and trying to be everything to everyone… many women slowly stop believing or just forget..... they are allowed to want joy too. In the messiness of life, we end up shelving our own happiness!

I see women navigating their work lives with more confidence than they negotiate their own needs.

I see women fight for their children, their partners, their aging parents, their teams, their organizations while privately forgetting they themselves are worthy of being deeply loved, chosen, supported, rested, or happy.

Putting my hand up here because every once in a while, I need the reminder too. I’ve definitely put my own happiness on the backseat from time to time.

Life has a way of pulling women into performance mode.
Into proving mode.
Into survival mode and sometimes into staying quiet mode.

Happiness is not supposed to be something we arrive at only after we have exhausted ourselves earning it.

We are allowed to live now.
To laugh now.
To soften now.
To experience joy now.
Not when everything is perfect or when everyone else is finally okay.
And not when we feel we have finally done enough.

Now.
Now.
Now.

Tell me you’re a midlife woman in a corporate leadership role without telling me you’re a midlife woman in a corporate leadership role.

You’ve mastered the art of presenting a Q3 strategy update while simultaneously:
• booking your mammogram
• reminding your teenage/adult child to call you back
• wondering if perimenopause is why you walked into the boardroom with no laptop
• coaching your team through burnout while quietly managing your own
• carrying snacks, Advil, chargers, and emotional resilience in the same oversized tote bag

You can read office politics in under 30 seconds.
You’ve survived restructures, reorgs, difficult bosses and impossible deadlines,

You no longer confuse exhaustion for ambition.

You’ve learned that leadership is less about proving yourself and more about protecting your peace, using your voice, and deciding what is no longer worth your energy.

And somehow… despite all of it…
you’re still showing up.
Still leading.
Still mentoring.
Still becoming.

Honestly? Midlife women in leadership might be the most underestimated force in corporate life.

We’re not starting over.
We’re leading differently.
