I have had a few new followers the past few weeks and wanted to pop on and say Hi 👋 I’m Geysel! A few things about me!

✨ I’m a wife to Bryan for 7 years, been together for 15 years
✨ Mama to 2 rambunctious boys, Benny (who is almost 5 😳) and Maverick (who is almost 1🙈)
✨ Maverick is the 1st 🇨🇦 in our family! The rest of us were all born in 🇦🇺
✨ I am a terrible baker!
✨ My videos may say otherwise, but I’m actually pretty introverted, give me a good TV series or book series and I’m happy!
✨ My favourite snack are KFC 🍟 (but the ones in 🇦🇺)
✨ Heya Mama first came from an idea I had when one of my close girlfriends was having her first baby
✨ I am an open book! I love answering and talking about TMI about postpartum because my hope is new Mamas don’t ever feel alone

My two boys! Both at 4 days old.

Something about me is that I have super tough pregnancies. I feel like I get every possible pregnancy symptom that you can possibly get, and if I am totally honest I don’t love being pregnant.

But what gets me through pregnancy is being able to hold and bond with my baby during breastfeeding. It’s a week to celebrate something so special that as Mother’s we get to do for our babies! I have spent this week being thankful that I could enjoy a successful breastfeeding journey with both my boys.

One of my favourite things about being a Mummy/Mommy is being able to hold your newborn/baby and bond while nursing, I know not everyone has the same story and by no means has it been an easy journey.

But I’ve taken this week as an opportunity to be really thankful that I could cuddle, bond and feed both my boys. To all my breastfeeding Mamas! Go you! You’re doing an awesome job! But also to my new Mamas however you choose to feed your baby, they are so lucky to have you looking over them and feeding them however you choose to!

It was a really tough day today!! Remembering the beautiful day we had yesterday, after a tough day today with virtual school, a clingy crying baby, an emotional kindergartener and a busy day of work, at bedtime with Benny today he asked me what I was thankful for and even though today was exceptionally tough I found the time to put that all aside and be thankful that our family is happy, healthy and safe. What are you thankful for today?

5 Months Postpartum
Second time around and I feel like I had completely forgotten about all the questions that you are overwhelmed with in this season!

✨Why isn’t he sleeping in his crib?
✨ Should I sleep train? And if so, how?
✨ I think he is ready for solids, should I start?
✨ Why is he crying so much?
✨ Is he cold?
✨ Is he hot?
✨ What are these lumps? Are they normal?
✨ Are all the night wakings due to hunger?

While we may not have all the answers to all the questions we have running through our heads, what I do know is that I’m just the right person to be Mama to Maverick. All the answers may not come at once, but day by day the answers will eventually come. Eventually he will sleep at night (🙌🏼 preferably in his crib) he will enjoy and eat solids and he will reach an age where he can answer all the questions I have in my head. For now, I’ll talk to my logical husband about all my thoughts, gain some much need clarity and cuddle Maverick a little harder, because tomorrow he’ll be a day older!
