3 things I wish I knew as a beginner in the gym✨
1. Progressive overload can be applied to training in a variety of ways to your sessions. Without progressive overload you won't be increasing the demands of your muscles to stimulate growth. To increase the intensity of your sessions you can add weight, increase reps/sets and reduce the rest period
2. Warm-up sets are different from working sets.
Warm-up sets are an essential for safe and effective workout They help prepare your body for the demands of the workout, improve performance, and reduce the risk of injury. I like to do 1-3 warm-up sets depending on the exercise with light weight
3. You don't need too many exercises to have an effective session. Doing fewer exercises allows for better focus, quality, recovery and reduces the risk of injury. You will be able to work harder and maximise effectiveness of the fewer exercises planned. Finding the balance between intensity and recovery will help you get the best results
