I got some incredible feedback during a class today. It sounds like there might be an interest for a; short duration, "extreme" intensity class. 45 mins tops. 8 min warm up and dynamic stretch at the end. Idea being, still be sucking some wind as you get out of the water or continue on with your next activity.
This feedback came from a participant who definitely has a couple of decades more life experience than myself and stated that the only reason they don't attend my class regularly is that they try to keep up with me and obviously on land I have zero resistance and can move very quickly.
I always talk about perceived exertion in my classes, and I am of the camp that you cannot sustain intense activity for very long periods of time. We get by this in the aqua world by adding all kinds of variety to the activities. However, not all of us want to work out for long durations, and we can achieve some of our cardiovascular and strengthening goals in a shorter period of time.
"It is your guys's fault that it always goes for an hour" this person said this with a smile on their face, and I am inclined to agree. Classes have just been an hour. That's always the way it's been.
Give me 40 minutes of your time and that will give you 20 for a shower and a sauna afterwards and I guarantee you I will give you as good work out as any other aqua class you take.
15 names and ill try to navigate the pool at the Complex. Let me know: deep? Shallow? (Would have limited space) or lanes? (Tethered)---- and a Time / day that works for YOU.
I'll make it happn for September.
