The WBDHF is pleased to appoint Russ Cobbe as general manager of Team Great Britain Ball Hockey. Russ was born in Luton, England and has played for both team Great Britain and Team Canada at five world championships. He brings decades of business experience to the position of representing Great Britain at WBDHF events. Jaroslav Melisek, president of WBDHF commented, “We welcome Russ to the WBDHF family and look forward to him building a competitive program.”
Chad Asselstine previously ran the GB team but has taken over running Team Canada, he said
“Russ was one of our original Masters players and we are pleased that he will continue the Team GB program. We look forward to competing against him on the floor.”
Cobbe said “I look forward to building on top of what Chad and his team have already accomplished and wish them the very best in leading Team Canada. “. He continued , “I am looking to create a long term organization that will be perennially competitive with the top teams in the ball hockey world “
Tryouts will be held shortly to build teams competing in tournaments in Buffalo USA and the Dominican Republic in 2025 in all age groups. Team GB is also interested in hearing from individuals that want to join us in coaching, media and manager roles.
