The 12U Female Sydney Sooners kicked off the season with a commanding 14–3 win over the New Waterford Dodgers in tournament play.

Jill Piercy went the distance at the mound, recording 7 strikeouts in a strong performance to lead the Sooners to victory.

SDLL has had a wonderful volunteer step forward to explore offering a Girls Division for ages 14–16, but we need to know if there’s enough interest to make it happen!

Whether you’ve played baseball before or are interested in trying it for the first time, we’d love to hear from you.

⚾️⭐️💰 SDLL 50/50 💰⭐️⚾️

We are pleased to announce that our first 50/50 draw of the 2026 season will take place on Monday, June 1st. Please note the following important details:

- Draws will occur every Monday until September 7th.
- Ticket drop-offs are accepted every Monday between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm at the Membertou Sport & Wellness Center (Rink).
- For convenience, ticket intake will be set up in front of the YMCA windows. Please use the side entrance facing the Hampton Hotel.
- Tickets must be completed with full name and valid phone number; stickers/labels are not accepted, but stamps are permitted. Ensure tickets are removed from stubs and staples.
- Exact cash payment is required; all payment methods are accepted except dimes and nickels.
- E-transfers are NOT accepted.

If you are unable to attend the Monday drop-off, a drop box is available at the rink. The Cape Breton Minor Hockey Partners mailbox is located at the base of the stairs directly across from the main entrance. Please adhere to the following guidelines for mailbox drops:
* No drop-offs after 4:00 pm on Monday; late submissions will be placed in the following week's draw.
* Please place tickets and cash in a securely sealed ziploc bag.
* Include a piece of paper with the player's full name and amount of money/tickets in the ziploc bag.
