There are some people who help build a volleyball club. And then there are people who build a family.
If you’ve been part of Fortress Volleyball Club, you’ve felt Shannon Murphy’s heart. As our President, she has poured countless hours into creating something so much bigger than volleyball. She’s the reason so many athletes, parents, coaches, and volunteers say Fortress feels like home. She remembers names, checks in when someone is struggling, celebrates every success, and makes sure everyone who walks through our gym doors feels like they belong.
This week, Shannon and her family experienced the unimaginable. Her husband, Robbie, suffered two strokes, and their lives changed in an instant. As Robbie begins the long road to recovery, Shannon is balancing being a caregiver, supporting their three daughters, and facing the uncertainty that comes with this new chapter.
As a club, we’ve always said we’re more than volleyball—we’re family. Now it’s our turn to show Shannon, Robbie, and their girls what that truly means.
Let’s wrap the Murphy family in the same love and support that Shannon has so selflessly given to every one of us. Please consider giving, as every donation, every share, every prayer, and every message of encouragement will help lift some of the weight they’re carrying and remind them they’re not walking this road alone.
❤️ Murphy Family, your Fortress family is with you every step of the way.
