Hockey has changed a lot over the years.
What was once a sport with limited opportunities for girls, has become a place where female athletes are thriving at every level of the game! More girls than ever are stepping onto the ice, building confidence, developing leadership skills, and creating lifelong friendships through hockey.
While Savanna Minor Hockey doesn’t currently have a team dedicated specifically to girls, we are proud of the environment we’ve created for our female players. Girls in our program have the same opportunities to learn, compete, grow, and be part of a team. They are supported by coaches, volunteers, teammates, and hockey families who want to see them succeed.
One of the greatest things about hockey isn’t just the game itself—it’s the community. The friendships formed in dressing rooms, on road trips, at practices, and during tournaments often last a lifetime. There is a strong sense of kinship among hockey players, and our female athletes are an important part of that community.
So if your daughter has been watching from the stands, shooting pucks in the driveway, following her favourite players, or talking about giving hockey a try, this is her invitation.
There is a place for her here. 🩷
We’re proud to support girls in hockey and look forward to welcoming the next generation of players to Savanna Minor Hockey!
