Volunteers don’t have to commit to the entire weekend. Have a few hours to spare? We will fit you in based on your availability!!

Details:
Exciting news! The U20 Men's Fastball Provincial Championships will be hosted at Bowes Ball Diamonds on Keeley Rd this year!

U20 Men's Fastball teams from all over the province will be coming to our area for this tournament. These games will be so awesome to watch, and this opportunity is great for our area where we work hard to grow our house league, select and rep softball/fastpitch teams each year.

But - we need your help!!!

We are looking for committed volunteers to help ensure we cover all the bases! (get it?) Help us to make this weekend a great success! Let's knock this out of the park!

If you are interested in helping, or have a high school student who would like some volunteer hours, please reach out to one of the individuals listed below.

On this week’s episode of “things you wouldn’t think need to be said”, we present to you:
Meta Glasses! 👓

‼️Players are not permitted to have electronic devices on the field.‼️

This includes, but is not limited to:
👓 Meta Glasses (or any other brand of glasses that take photos or record)
📱 Cellular devices
📸 Go pros
🎥 VHS camcorders
🎞️ Etc.

In addition to the field, players are strongly encouraged to keep devices off the bench and coaches are encouraged to enforce this.

Keep your head in the game, eyes on the ball 🥎 and be respectful to everyone around you

It’s opening day! Good luck to all of our teams across FCMSA who begin their games this week.

✨ Housekeeping items:

❓ I registered my child but I haven’t heard from their coach yet, who do I contact?
❗️ Email the area where you registered your child. Contact emails can be found on our website, here > https://fcmsa.ca/contact-us/

❓Where do I find the addresses for the diamonds on my player’s schedule?
❗️A list of all diamonds and their addresses can be found on our website, here > https://fcmsa.ca/diamonds/

❓It’s calling for rain 🌧️ on the day that my player is supposed to play, what now?
❗️Step 1. Don’t panic!
Step 2. A little bit of rain is ok. Often times it passes or clears up.
Step 3. Wait for your coaches to communicate 📧. Coaches will notify players/families if a game has to be cancelled due to weather.

⛅️ In many cases, games will continue!
Safety precautions are considered for increased precipitation, flooded fields and thunder/lightning. A decision is made in the best interest for all.

🚨 We ask that all players, coaches, families and spectators remember that this is house league softball!
Be respectful to all, set good examples for players, be inclusive to a variety of skill levels, and help our players learn valuable life lessons that they will carry with them into adulthood.

We are looking forward to an amazing 2026 season!

This past week was National Volunteers Week, and although we're late, we still want to send some love and appreciation to our volunteers who are working around the clock right now to form teams, communicate with coaches, coordinate schedules & much, much more.

On behalf of FCMSA, THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS! You really hit it out of the park! You always step up to the plate when it matters most!

No Volunteers? That would be a swing and a miss, am I right?

Is there a volunteer that helps out with FCMSA that you want to recognize? A recent or past coach? Assistant coach? Team manager? League convenor? The crazy social media lady with the lame jokes? Etc.

Hello FCMSA Coaches, Players and Families!

As our league convenors work to finalize team rosters, secure coaches and determine schedules, communication will soon be coming to your e-mails!

An important reminder to check your e-mail often, including your Junk/Spam folders as often times emails from unknown sources will end up there.

And lastly - if it's in your spam folder, your inbox clearly doesn't know ball!

Ok, ok. That was a bad joke. Please don't bench us, like your junk folder did our emails.

Last evening league convenors from FCMSA and InterCommunity Softball Association (ICSA) came together to discuss the upcoming season, team numbers and do a refresh of the rules.

Fun fact 🥎:
Once your player hits U15 (U13 girls) they begin playing with ICSA which includes all of our Frontenac areas, in addition to:
-Enterprise
-Greater Kingston
-Loyalist
-Napanee
-Newburgh
-Pittsburgh
-Tamworth
-Yarker

Thank you to these wonderful and dedicated volunteers for all they do behind the scenes - they’ve spent many hours already this year to ensure the season runs smoothly!

🥎Registration for the 2026 Season is now closed.

⭐What next?
- League convenors will be very busy in the next couple weeks forming teams, creating schedules and contacting coaches. (Offered to coach or assistant coach? Keep an eye on your email!)
- Coaches will reach out via email by early May. Check your email frequently, and don't forget to look in your junk mail as sometimes emails from unknown sources will end up there! (if you have not heard from your coach by early May, contact your league convenor below)
- The 2026 season is likely to begin the week of May 11th, 2026 (pending any schedule changes, field conditions due to weather, etc.)

Late Registration?
- Late registrations are not guaranteed and often depend on team numbers. If you missed the registration deadline but would like to inquire about a late registration, contact the email address for your league convenor below.
