🚧 Attention All Riders 🚧

The Swingletree Trail, over by Sheldon’s Trail, will be closed for the weekend.

We kindly ask that everyone stay off Pura Vida’s property until Monday. Executive Fred will be placing Trail Closed signs in the area.

It’s going to be a beautiful weekend with great riding conditions, so please enjoy all of our other trails and help us out by respecting the closure signs.

Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us maintain positive relationships with our landowners. Happy riding! 🚵‍♀️🚵‍♂️🌲

Ride Smart with be at the Launch Party! 12-2pm

We’re excited to welcome the Ride Smart Program to the Peninsula Mountain Bike Club Launch Party!

Ride Smart is a province-wide cycling education program that equips children and youth with essential bike handling and safety skills. By providing bikes, helmets, and expert instruction, the program removes barriers to participation while fostering confidence, independence, and lifelong healthy habits.

The Ontario Provincial Police adopted the Ride Smart Program in 2021 and use it to positively engage, mentor, and influence youth through cycling. Ride Smart programs are delivered in communities and schools across Ontario.

From 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., children will have the opportunity to participate in a brief introduction to bike handling and cycling safety. Several bikes and helmets will be available, making it easy for kids to get involved and learn from experienced instructors.

This is a great opportunity for young riders to build confidence, learn valuable skills, and have fun on two wheels!

Pura Vida will be at the PMBC Launch Party, 11-12pm

Pura Vida is the private landowner who has graciously allowed mountain biking on a portion of their property. If you've ridden the south side of the trail network, you've been enjoying trails on Pura Vida land, an area many locals know as the former Sheldon Ski Trail. Today, this section of the network is known as the Swingletree Trails. Their support and partnership have been instrumental in expanding our trail system and adding more kilometres of riding opportunities for the mountain biking community.

Pura Vida will be joining us at the Launch Party from 11am-12pm to celebrate this exciting partnership. They will also be bringing three miniature horses to help educate riders about safe interactions between cyclists and horses on shared trail systems.

Please take a moment to stop by, say hello, and thank them for their generosity and commitment to PMBC.

The Peninsula Mountain Bike Club is incredibly grateful for Pura Vida's support and partnership in helping create a welcoming and sustainable trail experience for riders of all ages and abilities, while transforming the Sawmill Trails into a true four-season playground for our community.

PMBC has officially surpassed 100 members!

In just six short weeks, we have grown to over 100 members.
This achievement would not have been possible without the support of some incredible people and a few stars aligning along the way. From day one, we have been met with overwhelming positivity, encouragement, and enthusiasm, which has fueled our motivation to create an amazing destination for mountain bikers of all ages and abilities to enjoy.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Grey Sauble Conservation Authority for placing their trust in our club. Their faith in our vision has provided the opportunity to create a welcoming space for mountain biking while helping to preserve and showcase the beauty of their forest.

We look forward to continuing to strengthen this partnership, fostering positive relationships within our community, and building something truly special together.
Thank you to everyone who has joined us on this journey so far. The best is yet to come!

A huge thank you to all of our trail-building volunteers who came out last Sunday! 👏

Everyone worked incredibly hard and definitely earned their lunch that day. Despite the mosquitoes, poison ivy, and ticks, we made tremendous progress on the trails.

We’re excited to share that our brand-new 3 km trail, Steam Engine, is nearly complete! 🚵

This crew was hard at work on Conveyor, widening the trail corridor and cutting back current and future overgrowth to keep the riding experience enjoyable for everyone.

To top off an amazing day, some volunteers stuck around for a group ride afterward. It was the perfect way to celebrate all the hard work and progress made on the trails.

Thank you for helping make our trail network better with every build day! 🌲🚵‍♀️🚵‍♂️💚

While we’re gearing up for our first big build day on Sunday, June 7 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., your executive team has already been busy behind the scenes building and maintaining new trails.

Our president, Jason, is never far from his favourite trail tool—the Silky Saw Big Boy 2000—which he even keeps in his frame bag for those unexpected fallen trees. He’s always happy to talk about why it’s such a great saw.

All trail tools will be out and ready to go on Sunday. Come join us, meet the executive team, and lend a hand with some trail maintenance.

Don’t forget to bring a plate for lunch—our executive member Andy and his wife will be firing up the grill and cooking burgers.
Membership and RSVP are required to attend. If there’s still energy left afterward, we may head out for a ride depending on interest.
