WestCoast Equi-Care CHA (CHA.horse)EWI/IRD certified instructor, based on Vancouver Island, travel to WA state regularly. I did not come to horses in the way my daughter did.

Coaching available online and in person. 5 years professional experience, 30 as a trainer, rider and competitor. I worked for any opportunity to be near them, brush them and eventually ride. In response to an add for work in exchange for riding, I was gifted a yearling with wobblers disease, although after only a short time; I knew I could not accurately care for the animal (Danger to self and oth

ers) I forfeit my ownership. But that never stop me from believing that I could recover horses from their condition. The majority of the horses in my career have been rescue and rehabilitation with the deliberation of: Maintain for life or euthanize humanely. As the buy and sell of horses are astronomical, I want horses that I know are trained in a way that makes sense and is useful for anyone.

A note about rescue & horse ownership.
It's not easy. Ive seen horses turn around, I've seen horses quit, Ive watched them change from angry and hard to soft and kind. I've watched healthy, sound, well trained horses become terribly angry and even dangerous. People first cast judgement on others without first recognizing the failure is how we define leadership/ owning/ handling/ riding. Leasing, riding, lessons. How we teach is how we break the cycle, horses are team members that we employ for room and board not a supreme dictatorship or command militant operation. Horses, like people, will only want to work for people who respect them and find value in their work.

Progress- its going to be hard. Nobody likes to hear that. The good news, the harder you work correctly the easier the work becomes. Training without leadership is like drawing faint lines in the sand that the waves will wash away, structure in the sand stays the deeper you dig it.
