Mantas Rays Were Golden in Regina
Our veteran senior swimmers with a couple of fresh face Mantas, and Coach Amanda Pockrant took to Regina this past weekend to participate in the second-Long Course Swim Meet of the year in Regina.
The Manta Rays continue to show up to the pool and blow everyone's expectations out of the water. While the city teams showed up with 50+ competitors, our small town team came with 9. The big city teams who practice 8 days a week are taking notice of our tiny team who only swim 2-4 days a week, and are achieving great success. Our orange hats stand out in a sea of green and blue, and Orange is starting to be a team to watch out for.

Our kids raced a total of 54 races, and were able to race in finals 43 times.
18 of the 43 were timed finals - 25 races had preliminary qualifiers to get to finals
48 new personal best times were achieved, and 35 top 10 finishes.

Big shout outs to Skylar Lumley who achieved her Jr. Qualifying time in her 50m backstroke, just narrowly missing her senior qualify time. Our newest Member this year Brielle Lariviere achieved Personal best times in all 6 of her swims, and is so close to her Jr. Qualifying times. Thea Burgess Earned her Jr. Qualifying time in her 200m Breaststroke and London Alger-East took off a huge 27.33 seconds from her 200m Breaststroke for her new 12 year old time.

Manta Rays brought home 8 medals from Regina!!!
Leighton Frey took home gold in the 100m Fly, and silver in the 50m fly.
Annelie Loden took home Gold in the 100m Breaststroke
Kenze Adamson took home Gold in the 200m Back, Silver in the 200m IM and Bronze in the 200m Breaststroke
Kaliya Blatz took home Silver in the 100m Breaststroke
Mavric Richardson took home Bronze in the 200m Breaststroke.

Back in February Manta Ray held its yearly Swim Your Heart Out fundraiser in which each swimmer was challenged to swim a certain number of pool laps in a certain time and accepted pledges to fundraise for the club. All of our swimmers did an amazing job and we have a total amount of distance swam that evening of 117km! Great work Mantas and thank you to everyone who pledged for the support!!
