Jamie Benn is one of the most accomplished players in Dallas Stars history. Drafted just 129th overall in 2007, Benn developed into an elite power forward and has spent his entire NHL career with Dallas. He became captain in 2013, won Olympic gold with Canada in 2014, and captured the Art Ross Trophy in 2014–15 after leading the NHL with 87 points. He later reached the 2020 Stanley Cup Final with Dallas and has recorded more than 400 goals and 1,250 NHL games.
Benn has also had an interesting influence on hockey-stick equipment. His famous custom “Benn” or P90T curve combined characteristics of more traditional mid curves with an aggressive toe, becoming increasingly popular among professional players. That pattern helped inspire/popularize the style that eventually became known at retail as the P90TM, now offered by several major stick manufacturers.
Even more interesting for gear enthusiasts, Benn has long preferred the construction and feel of the older Bauer Supreme Total One. Rather than simply switching constructions every time Bauer releases a new flagship stick, his pro-stock sticks have been documented using a Total One build underneath newer graphics essentially giving him the familiar stick he likes while making it look like a current Bauer model.
