Amazing Horse Country Relational Horsemanship: Positive and Practical
Trail, Obstacle, Starting, Liberty and more. Scott's philosophy is simple: the horse only has one job.

It's a job the horse is instinctively great at and can take pride in. That job isn't to be submissive, obedient, nor does it require control. It can be assisted with a soft approach. That job is simply to follow. And thus, the onus is on us to inspire our followers; to provide them not only with the tools to do the job but provide exceptional leadership in a way they naturally understand it. In Sc

ott's style, training and riding become a positive and successful experience for both horse and rider; a journey in which we master skills as trusted leaders and great communicators. Scott offers a unique understanding of relational horsemanship blended with a passion for the outdoors. It's a successful combination which has Scott sought out to assist with wild horse programs, equine assisted learning, cowboy challenge associations, trail riding clubs and more. His sold out clinics continuously earn praise from individuals and riding organizations alike.

The pictures say it all, don't you think?

Another amazing Progressive Horsemanship Workshop at the .ranch_

What did we do? Started a stud c**t. A first ride on a young mare. Confidence team building to a first ride. Helping a mare with a wonderful heart learn to trust. Exploring a mind-body connection to balanced athleticism.

All in one clinic, you might ask?

That's what it's all about! 3 Spots left on July 2-5.

Some milestones are years in the making, and today was one of them.

Leslie first came to a clinic almost ten years ago, and since then she’s shown up to around fifteen more — each time adding new skills, new understanding, and new confidence to her horsemanship. Every clinic, she makes big strides with her horses. Every single one.

But today… today was monumental.

Tex finally hit the trails.

If you know Tex, you know he’s a fun‑loving, playful guy — you should see him with the ball — but he and Leslie have had a couple of bumps along the way. The beautiful part is that those bumps are behind them now. The last few times I’ve worked with these two, they’ve been nothing short of amazing. Tex is confident, willing, and clearly ready to get out and enjoy life.

Yesterday we spent time on groundwork obstacles and a bit of arena riding. Today they rode everything on the obstacle course… and then led the trail ride like absolute rock stars.

🐴😄Leslie, I’m so proud of the work you’ve put in over the years. You’ve earned every bit of this moment, and Tex showed today just how much he trusts you. 😄🐴

So happy for you both — can’t wait to see where you go from here.

Someone passed us today on the way back to the barn and said, “Wow! He’s big!”

And for a moment, I just stood there with that truth ringing in my chest.
He is big.
Not just in height, but in presence, in heart, in who he’s becoming.

It feels impossible that the same little c**t who used to wedge himself under Belle for protection is now standing tall beside her, matching her stride for stride. Time has a way of slipping past quietly, especially when you’re walking it with a horse you love.

But what gets me most is the way he’s growing on the inside.
The way he steps up now.
The way he meets me halfway.
The way our rides feel less like me guiding him and more like two friends choosing the same rhythm.

He’s becoming an adult.
And somehow, in the middle of all that growing, he’s helping me grow too.

We don’t just depend on each other.
We complete each other.
And that’s the kind of partnership you don’t get to experience many times in a lifetime.

"Worth Watching" - our new series of clips that highlight our supportive style of Relational Horsemanship.

Take a minute and watch. It's worth it.

Cherie is working with a young stud - Hawk. Yesterday he was a bit of a handful. We touched on the elements of leadership - in a positive way (never obedience focused), having him associate pressures with following us, etc. in short order, we have answered many of his questions. He feels safe, confident, balanced, and curious with us.

Simply awesome.

We received a question recently about our Gypsy Horse Workshops. "Can we still participate if the horse is not ready to ride yet?"

The answer is a resounding YES! There is no minimum requirement at all. We use trails and obstacles and a lot of other fun things to build a wonderful connecting relationship with your gypsy horse. But you don't have to ride. Strong relationships begin on the ground and end in the saddle. So wherever you're at - you're more than welcome to come.

See you soon!

Partnership (noun): when two individuals combine their strengths to create something greater than either alone.
With horses, it’s our leadership meeting their confidence and athletic ability.
And when that happens — even a simple platform becomes proof of what’s possible.

Scott and Belle have been partners for nearly twenty years, and they embody that definition every time they move. You can see it in the way they read each other’s minds, in the way they flow as one. That’s partnership in its truest form.

Next Partnership Workshop: June 25-28.
