Get ready to hit the court with the Cape Breton University Capers! The Capers Basketball Clinic is back this weekend at Inverness Education Centre Academy for youth from Grades Primary - 12.

Here's the schedule:

Saturday, September 19
Grades 9–12: 7:00–8:30 p.m.

Sunday, September 20
Grades P–5: 10:00–11:00 a.m.
Grades 6–8: 10:00–11:30 a.m.

Basketball Nova Scotia is excited to launch its JPEP Development Pathway Series, beginning with their first weekend in Inverness on October 24–25.

The Pathway Series is designed to bring high-quality player development opportunities directly to athletes throughout Nova Scotia. Rather than requiring players to travel regularly to Halifax, Basketball Nova Scotia staff will visit communities across the province to provide instruction aligned with their provincial development pathway.

The Inverness weekend is open to U13 and U15 boys and girls and will focus on:

🏀Fundamental skill development
🏀Decision-making and basketball IQ
🏀Offensive and defensive concepts
🏀Movement and athletic development
🏀Competitive, game-based learning

Dates: October 24–25, 2026
Location: Inverness, NS, Gym TBD
Age Groups: U13 and U15 boys and girls

As we get ready to open registration, we’re also looking to hear from anyone who may be interested in coaching with the Seahawks this season!

We’re very thankful to those who have already expressed interest in coaching. Depending on our registration numbers and how many teams we’re able to form, we may need additional coaches, so we’d like to see if there is any further interest in our community.

Whether you have coaching experience, have played basketball, or simply have a good understanding of the game and enjoy working with youth, we’d love to hear from you.

Calling all teens! Our Teen Tournament season kicks off this Monday, June 29, with some 3v3 Basketball action at the Inverness Multicourt!

Tip off is at 10:00 a.m., and the tournament is split into two divisions:
Jr. Division: Ages 11 - 14
Sr. Division: Ages 15 - 18

If there is enough interest, there's potential for an all girls division, too.
