Quick reminder, there is no lacrosse tonight due to other events happening at the rink from June 18 - July 1.

We’ll see you back at the rink starting on July 2.

In the meantime, we encourage everyone to get outside, find a friend or brick wall, and keep up with the stick work!

🗓️ UPDATED SCHEDULE 🗓️

We’ve noticed that a full 2-hour practice on school nights is a bit too long for the players. Starting now, weekday practices will be 1.5 hours so we can keep them fast, focused, and high energy. We’re also moving all U19 weekday floor time to Thursday nights only.

Our weekend times will stay exactly the same for this block. These small changes will take us through next weekend, and the following week we’ll move into a more normal schedule.

📢 Volunteers Needed for Paradise Minor Lacrosse!!

If you're interested in volunteering to help out with the league, feel free to stick around after one of the practices. It could be anything such as opening doors to the gate during games, running the score and 30 second clocks, communicating with parents in your division, or anything else.

We'll have a quick chat with anyone who sticks around after each practice this week to identify opportunities and provide the applicable information.

We're getting a ton of questions about gear! The great news is you don't need to be fully outfitted with lacrosse-specific equipment.Most of the protective gear used in hockey works perfectly on the turf.

THE GEAR LIST:
1. Helmet with Cage (Hockey gear okay)
2. Shoulder Pads (Hockey gear okay)
3. Slash Guards / Elbow Pads (Hockey gear okay)
4. Gloves (Hockey gear okay)
5. Mouth Guard (Hockey gear okay)
6. Jock or Jill (Hockey gear okay)
7. Sneakers (Standard court shoes/sneakers)
8. Lacrosse Stick (Lacrosse specific)
9. Kidney Pads (Lacrosse specific)
10. Bicep Pads (Lacrosse specific)

WHERE TO FIND IT:
You can find equipment locally at Sport Chek or Sportcraft. If you're looking for lacrosse-specific items like sticks or kidney pads, there are plenty of great online retailers as well.

FOR GOALIES:
Don't worry about the pads just yet. Since goalie gear is unique and expensive, the league will be providing it as needed for our inaugural season.

The turf is officially down, and it is time to get the players out there! 🥍

Next week is all about getting the players on the floor, getting sticks in hands, and introducing everyone to the game. Here is the practice schedule for our first week on the turf at the Paradise Double Ice Complex:

🗓️ THE SCHEDULE:

🔹 U13 Mixed:
Tuesday, May 26 @ 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM

🔹 U11 Mixed:
Wednesday, May 27 @ 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM

🔹 U15 Mixed + U19 Females:
Thursday, May 28 @ 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM

🔹 U19 Male:
Wednesday, May 27 @ 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM AND
Thursday, May 28 @ 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM

⚠️ Division Update for 2011 Players:
Based on your feedback, we have decided that beginner players born in 2011 have the option to play in the U15 division this season. If you’d like to make the switch and we haven't already spoken, please send us a message or email so we can get them sorted on the roster.

🔄 Looking Ahead:
Please note that these first few weeks will help us assess player calibre and numbers. Once we get through this initial phase, we will lock in a more consistent, long-term schedule that aligns as closely as possible with our original seasonal plans.
