Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing women in our softball community 💐🥎

Today we celebrate the moms, stepmoms, grandmas, bonus moms, foster moms, team moms, fur moms, mother figures, and all the women who support, encourage, cheer loudly, organize endlessly, and show up for the people they love, both on and off the field.

Thank you for being part of what makes this league such a strong, supportive, and incredible community.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at the BLSA!! 💐💕

Now for a few curveballs:

1️⃣ The Fence Saga Continues

Our fearless President + exec team are still in talks with the Councillor… and no, this hasn’t died. Stay tuned!

2️⃣ Field Conditions Update

We’ve been keeping a close eye on things… and well… it’s playable (emphasis on playable 😬).

Sadly, the rink setup this year left a pretty big patch of dead grass, and we’ve already flagged it with the City + Councillor (with pics - thanks to our Past Prez Kelly).

That said, the infield’s been groomed, and soccer players are already doing their thang in the outfield 🤣 So far… no torn ACLs, so we’re calling it cautiously good to go. 😅

⚠️ SUMMARY: Left/Centre field is a bit rough, right field’s a dream. The City is aware. Play smart, stay aware, and remember: “we pay to play… we don’t get paid to play”. (Thanks Jackie!) 💕🤪

3️⃣ INSURANCE - Don’t Skip This!

If you haven’t registered with NSA insurance yet DO IT BEFORE you step on the field (see link in bio). It protects YOU if something happens. No registration = potential headaches you don’t want to deal with.

🥎These fields aren’t pro-level and are used by the public, so keep your eyes up and use good judgement.

New players joining a team: If you’ve already got a team, you can register directly through the website too.
