Let me say this the way I’d say it to you over coffee…
If your body feels like it suddenly stopped responding the way it used to in your late 30s or 40s—it’s not random.
As ovulation becomes less consistent, progesterone drops and estrogen starts doing its rollercoaster thing… and that combo messes with how your body handles blood sugar.
Which is why fat loss starts to feel harder and way more frustrating than it used to.
But here’s where I see so many women unintentionally making it worse (even the really disciplined ones):
✅ Skipping breakfast, then eating most of their food at night → your blood sugar is all over the place, and your body stays in stress mode
✅ Starting the day with a carb-heavy breakfast → sets you up for cravings and crashes all day
✅ Eating too late → your system never gets a break to reset overnight
✅ Grazing all day → insulin stays elevated, which keeps you in fat-storing mode
✅ Leaning on dairy as your main protein → can spike insulin more than you think and mess with energy/mood
✅ Not hitting enough protein per meal → hello snacking, cravings, and unstable energy
✅ Doing tons of cardio but not enough strength training → muscle (your metabolism’s best friend) starts declining
✅ Running on low sleep → your hunger, cravings, and fat storage hormones all shift in the wrong direction

This isn’t about doing more.
It’s about doing the right things for this phase of your journey.
Because once your blood sugar is supported properly, everything changes—your energy, your mood, your sleep… and yes, your ability to actually lose fat again.
If you’re feeling stuck and you know your current approach isn’t matching your body anymore…
Let’s map it out together.

It’s not that you’re doing everything wrong… your body is just responding differently now.
That stubborn belly fat after 40? A lot of it comes down to blood sugar and how your body is handling stress, food, and daily movement.
Which is why doing more cardio and eating less isn’t fixing it.
The shift is simpler than you think:
support your blood sugar, use your muscles more, and work with your body—not against it.
Small changes… done consistently… are what get things moving again.
If you’re tired of guessing and want a clear plan tailored to your body, DM me “BALANCE” and let’s book your free call. We’ll map out your next steps so you can finally start seeing results that last.

The shift most women miss after 40 isn’t another diet or workout… it’s learning how to regulate your body so it actually works with you.
Start simple:
Notice what’s working.
Acknowledge what you did well.
Build from there.
That’s how you move out of survival mode—and into results that actually last.
If you’re ready to stop feeling stuck and want a clear plan tailored to your body, DM me “RESET” and let’s book your free discovery call. We’ll map out your next steps so you can finally start seeing progress.

You don’t need to eat less and do more… you need to start building, not shrinking.
Muscle is what changes your body after 40—how you look, how your metabolism works, and how your hormones function.
Lift with intention. Fuel your body. Recover properly. Stay consistent.
That’s how results finally start to stick.
If you’re ready to stop spinning your wheels and actually have a plan that works for your body, DM me “START” and let’s get you set up with a free call.

“Why do I feel softer even though I’m losing weight?”
Because fat loss doesn’t happen in a straight, tight-and-toned line.
In the early to middle phase of fat loss, your fat cells are shrinking… but your skin, water balance, and muscle tone haven’t caught up yet.
So yes—you might feel:
•Squishier
•Less “tight”
•Like your progress is going backwards
You’re not.
This phase is completely normal and can last anywhere from 3 to 8 weeks (sometimes longer depending on age, muscle mass, and consistency).
What’s actually happening:
•Fat is being mobilized and released
•Water retention fluctuates
•Muscle definition hasn’t fully revealed yet
Then one day… things “tighten up.”
That’s when your body catches up to the fat loss.
The mistake most women 40+ make? They quit right here.
Stay consistent. Lift weights. Hit your protein. Be patient.
Because the toned look you want is on the other side of this “squishy” phase.

Meaner 🤷🏼‍♀️ maybe to some, but happier, calmer, more vibrant most definitely!!

Are you doing any of these??

Yes, a calorie deficit is necessary for fat loss.
But after 40, the way most women create that deficit is what stalls their progress.
Here’s the problem:
Many women over 40 cut calories too low—often dropping to 1,200–1,400 calories daily—thinking “less = faster.”
But this doesn’t work like it did in your 20s.
When you undereat this much:
• Your metabolism suffers
• Your stress hormones (cortisol) spike
• Your thyroid function drops
• Your hunger and cravings increase
• You lose muscle instead of fat
• Your body holds onto fat around your midsection
That’s why you see the scale stall, feel exhausted, and notice your body getting “softer” even though you’re eating less.
The real key: deficit + macros
You can still be in a calorie deficit—but you need to align your macros so your body actually changes:
✅ Protein: 1.2–1.6g per pound of body weight (or 120–150g/day for most women 40+)
→ Protects and builds muscle
→ Keeps you full
→ Supports metabolism
✅ Carbs: Not too low
→ Fuels your workouts
→ Supports hormone balance
→ Helps with recovery and energy
✅ Fats: Enough for hormone production
→ Not too low, not too high
→ Balance is key
When your macros are aligned:
• Fat loss continues without burning out
• Muscle builds (which tightens your body)
• Energy stays stable
• Hormones regulate
• Cravings decrease

Because fat loss after 40 isn’t about how little you eat.
It’s about eating the RIGHT amount of the RIGHT foods while training hard.
If you’re stuck in the “eat less, move more” cycle and nothing’s changing…
it’s time to stop guessing and start aligning.

Perimenopause isn’t the problem.
But what most women are doing during it? That’s where things go sideways.
Here’s what I personally had to unlearn:
1. Protein and fibre
I stopped under-eating and started fueling my body properly.
No more skipping meals or living on coffee.
No more guessing but actually tracking.
I made protein a priority at every meal.
Added fibre to support digestion and blood sugar.
And that’s when things started to regulate.
Less bloating.
More stable energy.
Fewer cravings.
And my body finally started responding.
2. Training like your body is still 25
More workouts.
More intensity.
Pushing through exhaustion.
And then wondering why nothing is changing.
After 40, your body does not respond to more stress.
It responds to the right stimulus.
Progressive Overload.
Walking.
Recovery.
That’s what lowers inflammation, supports hormones, and actually changes your body.
3. Constantly running on stress
Most women think it’s food.
It’s not—it’s stress.
Overcommitting.
Saying yes when you’re already maxed out.
Running on empty and calling it “normal.”
That keeps your body in a constant high-cortisol state
which is exactly what drives belly fat, poor sleep, mood swings, and burnout.
When you start protecting your time, your energy, and your recovery?
Your body responds fast.
Here’s the shift—
Perimenopause symptoms don’t improve by doing more.
They improve when you start doing what actually supports your body.
Strength.
Recovery.
Nutrition.
Dial those in—and everything changes.
If you’re ready to stop guessing and start feeling like yourself again—
That’s exactly what I help women do.
