Good morning ☕️ & Happy Tuesday!

Onto a new chapter in my life, rented out my condo for the next year to a super cute young couple from Ontario.

Just moved in with my boyfriend in Vancouver, but still training clients 4 days a week on the North Shore.

Money goes where it’s loved, respected and used strategically for the betterment of ourselves and others 🌍

When I first started my health & fitness journey 23 years ago, I thought:⁣⁣
>>More cardio and less food was the only way to go,⁣⁣
>>All I had to do was eat healthy 95% of the time⁣⁣

💩Sometimes I’d almost pass out on the cardio machine and have to leave the gym suddenly⁣⁣
💩I was living off egg & avocado bagels, sausages and Uncle Ben’s rice⁣⁣
💩Trying to eat as little as possible

Little did I realize most of my diet was actually processed⁣ ⁣
❌𝘕𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘺 𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘺 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘥⁣😢⁣
❌I was eating all the wrong kinds of fats ⁣⁣
❌I lost weight all right but I ended up with the dreaded “skinny fat” look⁣⁣
❌I felt more depressed and lost than ever...zero confidence...so what did I do?⁣⁣
❌Throw myself into dating which made me feel even worse⁣⁣

These simple exercises can be done before workouts to “wake up” your glutes or as a stand-alone workout of 4-5 sets of 15-20 reps. A hip circle band is NOT required although handy for greater muscle activation. ⁣

I had no period, I was exhausted all the time. And I didn’t even enjoy how “good” everyone said I looked.⁣⁠

You know why? I grew up being emotionally & verbally abused and made fun of at every turn. Treats not being shared with me.⁣⁠

By someone close to me who was supposed to love, cherish & protect me. Made me feel unwanted and unloved, not good enough.⁣⁠

I then went on to be bullied throughout elementary and high school for being “different” & a “bigger girl.”⁣ (I’m 5’9 + always have had wide hips and thick thighs)⁣⁠

But it didn’t stop there - I’ve also been bullied online for being thicker. I’ve been harassed by men who only look at me as a piece of meat, a s*x object.⁣⁠

It’s disgusting 🤮 ⁣BUT societal standards and bullies haven’t wounded me as much as hateful words have since the age of 7.⁣⁠
⁣⁠
It doesn’t matter if you think I’m beautiful, s*xy or smart.⁣⁠
It’s how I feel about me that matters to ME.⁣⁠
I used to pick my body apart constantly.⁣⁠
⁣⁠
When I look in the mirror I tend to see the things I don’t like:⁣⁠
Crooked teeth, rounded belly, back fat, cellulite on the back of my legs and jiggly inner thighs.⁣⁠

I am learning to love my body every day with small actions of self love.⁣

But it didn’t stop there - I’ve also been bullied online for being thicker. ⁣
I’ve been harassed by men who only look at me as a piece of meat, a s*x object.⁣

It’s disgusting 🤮 ⁣
BUT societal standards and bullies haven’t wounded me as much as hateful words have since the age of 7.⁣

It doesn’t matter if you think I’m beautiful, s*xy or smart.⁣
It’s how I feel about me that matters to ME.⁣
I used to pick my body apart constantly.⁣

When I look in the mirror I tend to see the things I don’t like:⁣
Crooked teeth, rounded belly, back fat, cellulite on the back of my legs and jiggly inner thighs.⁣

𝘏𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘦𝘭𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘰𝘰?⁣
I know I’m not alone.⁣
And I just wanna say - 𝐈 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐀𝐌 𝐲𝐨𝐮.⁣

Don’t put me on a pedestal cause I want you to know I struggle too.⁣
𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘴𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵?⁣

It doesn’t matter what anyone else says, those old tapes can be SO loud. The trauma echos and it is almost impossible to turn down the volume.⁣

Luckily, I’m on a healing ❤️‍🩹 journey learning to love all of my body - flaws and all.⁣

𝘕𝘦𝘸𝘴 𝘧𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘩: 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯’𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘭!!

Cravings are the sign of a nutrient imbalance!

𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐬?

Up your protein at EVERY meal, and don’t forget 5 cups of non-starchy veggies a day will help ensure your body’s getting the micronutrients it’s lacking if you keep craving sweets.

𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐩𝐢𝐳𝐳𝐚 𝐨𝐫 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬?

Make sure to include a small amount of healthy fats at every meal, along with some whole grain carbohydrates, sufficient protein and hella veggies so you are giving your body what it NEEDS.

𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝?

Then you probably under salt your food which isn’t good either. Our bodies need a small amount of sodium to function properly, and even more if you workout often and sweat a lot. Pink Himalayan sea salt is best. Also make sure to add high quality electrolytes to your water throughout the day, not just while you’re exercising or doing housework. I have a great one I can recommend if you aren’t sure.

𝘓𝘦𝘵’𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘕𝘖𝘜𝘙𝘐𝘚𝘏𝘐𝘕𝘎 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘪𝘦𝘴, 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘴 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬! Just remember, the amount of each macronutrient (protein, carbs and fats) depends on your lifestyle, goals and body anatomy, among other factors.

✅Dealing with your feelings instead of
