The Waterloo Wellington Down Syndrome Society (WWDSS)'s 2026 Calendar is now available to pre-order. The 2026 edition features our very own Aces swimmer, Amiera Black. Calendars are $10 and support the WWDSS.
The theme of the calendar is 'I BELONG' showcasing stories of how individuals with Down Syndrome are included in their communities and where they found a place of belonging.

For new swimmers, if you would like to join our next session, please sign up for a free trial swim on our website.

Registration for FUNdamentals session 2 opens on November 1st for returning swimmers and on November 8th for new swimmers.

It's that time of year again. The Aces are hosting the first youth dance of the season!
Put on your dancing shoes and kick off the Thanksgiving weekend with some wholesome fun.

When: Thursday October 9th
Time: 7-10pm
Ages: Grade 5-8
Where: New Hamburg Community Centre
Cost: $10 cash at the door

Pizza, candy, and drinks will be available for purchase.

It's official! Our very own Amiera Black is the Americas Senior Womens record holder for 400IM Long Course. 🎉
Amiera set the record on April 11, 2025 at the Cunningham Classic hosted by Region of Waterloo Swim Club.
It was her very first time swimming the 400IM in a long course pool. 🔥Amiera is also a member of the Canadian Down Syndrome Swim Team.

Did you know that a swim meet is run entirely by volunteers? That's right - every 4 hour session of a meet requires approximately 40 volunteers.
The Aces have hosted 13 sessions this season -- requiring 520 volunteer shifts.
And at our most recent junior series meet, we had 8 of our senior swimmers step up to give back to the sport as timers, turn judges and coaches.
As we come to the end of National Volunteer Week, we'd like to say a huge thank you to all of our dedicated volunteers... our swimmers simply couldn't compete without you. 💚

Our Wilmot Fall Invitational this past weekend was a smashing success! 225 swimmers from 5 clubs. Lots of first time swims, lot of personal bests, along with Regional and Provincial qualifiers!
Thank you to all of the incredible volunteers who contributed countless hours to make the meet run smoothly -- even with the minor hiccup on Sunday afternoon we still managed to start the next session right on time!

Our very own ACES Swimmer, Amiera Black, is participating in the USA Athletes Without Limits National Swimming Championships at the Rosen Aquatic Centre in Orlando Florida. The competition runs from November 7 - 11th.
