Westwood Karate

Westwood Karate Karate Training for Kids/Adults in Nanoose Bay Sensei Brian Purves has been involved in Martial Arts training for over 17 years.

In 2006, he achieved the rank of Sandan (third degree black belt), in Okinawa Goju-Ryu Karate, under Sensei Brad White of Maple Ridge. Early in his Martial Arts career, Sensei Brian established himself as a respected competitor in the Karate community, winning numerous tournaments in his sparring divisions. In 2004, he began competing in the WKF style Karate tournaments and is currently a member of the BC Karate team for Kumite (sparring).

Well that 20 years went fast...After 2 awesome decades it's time to turn the page and start a new chapter in life away from the rat-race of the city. HUGE THANKS to everyone that made Westwood Karate such an amazing experience for me - students, parents, teammates, competitors, etc., I'll never forget you! Who knows, Westwood Karate.2 may pop up in a smaller town in the future

🌸 Sign your child up today for any one of our beginners classes! With spring break around the corner, the little ones will have some extra energy. Classes are offered Mondays and Thursdays from 6 to 7 PM. Or, try our Small Fry Samurai classes for kids aged four to seven. These classes run on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 5-5:30 PM or 5:30-6 PM. 🌟
