Yesterday, I had the pleasure of seeing off our U12 boys from Club Soccer Verdun as they departed for London, United Kingdom, to take part in the Heston International Cup 2026.

The tournament will be held at the official training ground of Queens Park Rangers and is organized by Orange Veins in collaboration with Queens Park Rangers FC. It will bring together top academies from around the world, including Paris Saint-Germain (France), Liverpool (England), Queens Park Rangers (England), AIK Stockholm (Sweden), MTK Budapest (Hungary), Käpylä United (Finland), Vitesse (Netherlands), Nottingham Forest (England), and Young Boys FC (USA).

This is a historic moment for Club Soccer Verdun. Opportunities like this reflect the growth of our players and the direction of our club.

As Technical Director, I am very proud of the boys and everyone involved. A sincere thank you to our Board, the parents, our Director General, and the entire club community for their continued support.

Please keep your head up, my friend, and stay focused on what lies ahead. Moments like these are never easy, but they are part of the journey in football. Setbacks do not define you. Your character, resilience, and passion do.

You are a strong and dedicated coach, and Italy remains one of the greatest footballing nations in the world. Missing qualification is part of the reality of the game, but it does not diminish your value or your work.

Be grateful for every good thing people do for you, no matter how small it may seem. Gratitude reflects the purity of the heart and the strength of one’s faith. In many ways, gratefulness is another name for recognizing the presence and blessings of God in our lives.

Unfortunately, ungratefulness often leads to shame, because those who forget the good done for them eventually face the truth.
