The next ISBHF World Ball Hockey Championships are officially set for June 20–28, 2026 in Ostrava, Czech Republic 🇨🇿 — the global stage where nations battle for hockey supremacy!

Team Greece 🇬🇷 is getting ready! This will mark our 9th appearance at the World Championships as we continue the pursuit of our first-ever medal in the A division, after three hard-fought 4th-place finishes. The mission continues. The belief grows. The work starts now. 💙🤍

The Greek Independence Day is a national holiday celebrated annually in Greece on 25 March, commemorating the start of the War of Greek Independence in 1821.

Greece had been part of the Ottoman Empire since 1453, when the Greek revolt was precipitated on 25 March 1821, when Bishop Germanos of Patras raised the flag of revolution over the Monastery of Agia Lavra in the Peloponnese.

The cry “Freedom or death” became the motto of the revolution.

The revolution ended in 1829 when the Treaty of Edirne established an independent Greek state.
