The Dawson Gym is now officially closed for the rest of semester

Hey everyone!

After the recent announcement, Dawson College, along with all other schools, will be closed until May 1st!

We know these can be tough times in terms of fitness but Dawson College has provided some cool tips so you can get in some home workouts! I didn’t read it but it’s probably great! Link is below!

If you’re looking for substitutes to weighted exercises, there’s lots of ways to get around it. Instead of body weight squats, try one legged squats. Try using tight backpacks with various exercises. Increase the angle of pushups to make them tougher. Body weight rows can be done from underneath a table. Be creative!

Most of all everyone should stay safe and stay indoors! If everyone does their part we’ll be able to open the gym back up ASAP! If not, this unlife will drag on for a lot longer!

The Dawson College Physical Education Team offers this advice on how to stay active while at home. You are working from home, social distancing is upon us,

As you’ve all heard, Dawson College will be closed for the next 2 weeks minimum. Obviously this includes the gym. Circuit classes are on hiatus as well and we’ll keep you posted when the gym will reopen. Stay safe everyone and have fun during the break!

Hey everyone! A couple of important new rules!

1. The weight room will now be opening at 1pm on Fridays

2. Everyone must get stamped on their way in the gym regardless of whether you have a voucher or if you’re an athlete. Make it a habit to pass by the front!

Good news! The Dawson gym will be opened from Thursday! Hours will stay the same for now with circuits at 12 and 5. We’ll keep you updated on any new info!

The Dawson gym is now closed for the holidays (unless you have special team practices!) We'd like to thank everyone for a great semester and will see you all next year!

1. UNTIL END OF SEMESTER DAY GYM WILL BE CLOSED MON-THU FROM 5PM - 6PM FOR CIRCUIT

2. IF YOU ARENT ON A SCHOOL TEAM AND DONT HAVE A VOUCHER OR STAMP YOU CANNOT COME INTO THE GYM
