Edible-inspired holiday stamps are transforming familiar seasonal traditions into collectible postal artwork. The U.S. Postal Service's Christmas Cookies Forever stamps feature actual cookies created, baked, and decorated by designer Kyrie Johnson before being photographed by artist Sarah Cramer Shields.

The four designs depict a decorated Christmas tree, Santa Claus, a wrapped present, and a stocking, translating handcrafted baked goods into functional stamp designs. The collection is available nationwide in booklets of 20 Forever stamps.

Two historic quilts featured on stamps : one of the stamps features Northern Night, a 1956 quilt designed by Orillia, Ont., artist Ada Bruce Torrance.

Inspired by the aurora borealis, the quilt features the Big Dipper and North Star overlooking a loon. It was sewn by members of the Simcoe County Arts and Crafts Association for a Star Weekly quilt contest, where it won the grand prize before later being donated to the Royal Ontario Museum.

The second stamp features a log cabin quilt dating to the 1890s.

Created by Frederica Matilda Tompkins of East Florenceville, N.B., the cotton and wool quilt uses a barn-raising pattern and was later donated to the museum.

Did you know that last week the world's most famous postie, Postman Pat, turned 45?

The very first episode aired on British TV on 16 September 1981, located in the fictional village of Greendale, which in turn was inspired by the real life Cumbrian hamlet Longsleddale.

In homage we tried to find the closed thing in our archives to a real world Postman Pat and turned up with Buttermere Post Office and a postman, photographed in 1937.

Mail carriers used whatever means necessary to get the mail through. This 1920 Idaho carrier strapped up to 80 pounds of mail on his back and traveled on skis from Rocky Bar to Atlanta, Idaho.

His 16-mile route was one of the most dangerous in the country. Between 1892 and 1913, seven carriers lost their lives in snow slides on the route.

The body of a carrier who died one January was not found until the following June.

Three students of Army Public School Seven Streams have assembled a rare collection of postage stamps and postal issues depicting Pakistan’s armed forces, covering the period from the country’s independence in 1947 through 2026.

The initiative has also highlighted the traditional hobby of philately, or stamp collecting, at a time when such interests have become increasingly uncommon amid the rapid expansion of digital technology.

The students acknowledged the encouragement and guidance provided by their parents, school principals and teachers, saying their support helped them pursue the project and complete the extensive collection.'

At the event, collectors will have the opportunity to buy, sell, and appraise rare stamps, mint sheets, postal history, covers, and collecting supplies with top dealers fr om across the country. The event will feature special commemorative covers and cachets honoring the society’s 100-year history, local landmarks, and Omaha’s philatelic legacy.
