President’s message

As we come to the end of another season for most of the Slammin’ Salmon Rugby Club, I want to take a moment to recognize what this club is truly about and it is our people.

From our Rookie Rugby players, to our U14 boys and girls, U17 boys and girls, senior women, and senior men, we have watched so much growth this season. Not just in skills, but in confidence, character, leadership, and the way our players have supported one another.
You’ve made friends, built memories, learned to push through the tough days, celebrated the good ones, and most importantly, you’ve continued to show up for each other and for this club.

The dedication you have all put into Slammin’ Salmon means more than wins and losses ever could. Every practice, every game, every cheer from the sideline, every new player welcomed into the club, and every teammate who was picked up when things got tough has helped make this club what it is.

As President, I couldn’t be prouder of the rugby players you have become, but even more so, I’m proud of the people you are becoming.

Thank you to every player, coach, volunteer, parent, supporter, and family member who has contributed to this season. You are the reason this club continues to grow.

Here’s to the friendships, the growth, the bruises, the laughs, the lessons, and the memories.

The season for some may be over, but what we’re building together is just getting started. Stay tuned to take in some more senior men action.

Give a huge shoutout to Angela Carter Angela Carter. A selfless soul that helps capture the memories of your little player and loved ones. She is a great example of a rugby parent and we applaud you.

Hats off to Conan . Not only is he a positive role model for the kids, he gives back by being there for the U14 boys program. If you see him out, give him a high five. The world could use more people like him.

Some people show up and some people build something bigger than themselves.

From organizing, coaching, and leading as president of Slammin’ Salmon RFC, to being on the sidelines week after week, Mark has a commitment to growing the sport and the women’s game. Creating opportunities. Breaking barriers. Supporting athletes to believe they belong on that field. Because of him, more girls are stepping into rugby, staying in rugby, and thriving in rugby.

The Slammin’ Salmon U14 Girls brought the sunshine, the smiles, and the fun to the beach today for the Parlee Beach 7s.
These girls have been putting in the work, building friendships, and showing what rugby is all about: teamwork, toughness, and having a whole lot of fun along the way.
From the first whistle to the final try, there was plenty of energy, plenty of heart, and a little bit of Hawaiian flair!
