Hello Facebook world. My name is Guy Losier and I have tied flies for over a decade now. My passion for tying flies comes from the satisfaction of creating something functional and beautiful, and because you end up with a better fly at a lower cost (when you lose as many as I did to the trees when I first started, it becomes an expensive hobby lol). Having fished for trout most of my life, I naturally began tying trout flies. Let me tell you, the instant that first fish took my carefully crafted "mess" off the top of the water, I was hooked. Many years have gone by since that first attempt at fly tying and I would like to think I have gotten better at it. But with all the different patterns and techniques out there and not to mention the ever-evolving list of materials and tools, there is always something new to fuel my love of learning. Salmon flies became an interest later for me. No one in my family fished salmon growing up so I was never immersed in the culture. But curiosity and wanting to try new patterns led me down the rabbit hole of salmon flies.
If, like me, you appreciate a fly not only because it is tied well but because it is tied to last and catch fish, then you may just find something of interest on my page.
