Hockey Hits Cancer 2025 Tournament Raises $10,004 for Meaford Hospital Foundation!---
Meaford, ON – The Annual Hockey Hits Cancer 2025 tournament, held this year from Friday, March 21 to Sunday, March 23 at the Meaford & St. Vincent Community Centre, brought over 20 teams together in a spirited competition to raise funds for the Meaford Hospital Foundation. This year’s event raised over $10,000 for the palliative care room at the Meaford Hospital, allowing patients and families to receive compassionate care in a comfortable and dignified setting.
The event, which has grown in size and scope over the past decade, was a smooth operation, thanks to lead organizer Mackenzie Fleming, his wife Ashley, and his dedicated crew, who ensured the tournament ran efficiently and provided a fun, competitive environment for all involved. Now in its 10th year, this cherished event is organized by the grandchildren of the late Anne and Alexander Fleming of Meaford, and serves as a third-party fundraiser for local charities. Over the past decade, Hockey Hits Cancer has successfully raised more than $70,000!
This year’s tournament saw an outpouring of community support, with volunteers from the Meaford Hospital Foundation selling draw prizes, 50/50 tickets, and Gift of Flight Raffle tickets, courtesy of WestJet. Volunteers also offered valuable information about the Foundation’s ongoing projects, raised awareness, and encouraged contributions from attendees.
