Horse Powered Reading® offers a unique and engaging approach that combines evidence-based literacy activities with the motivation and movement of working alongside horses.

Children don’t just sit at a desk—they participate in hands-on activities designed to build:

⭐ Phonics and decoding skills
⭐ Communication skills
⭐ Focus and problem-solving abilities

Perfect for children ages 4–12 who:
✔ Need extra support with reading

✔ Love animals and being outdoors

Small groups (maximum 4 students)

$260 per child for a 4-week program
(1 session per week, 1 hour each)

Horse Powered Reading® is now enrolling children ages 4-12 for summer literacy programs on Nova Scotia’s South Shore. Through engaging, evidence-based reading activities and the motivating presence of horses, children build confidence, reading skills, and a positive connection to learning.

Small Groups ~ Limited Spaces ~ South Shore Farm

In a 4 week program, kids work in groups of four alongside horses to build confidence, motivation, decoding skills, fluency and comprehension. This program combines horses, reading activities and movement-based learning in a safe setting…perfect for reluctant readers, children who flourish outside a traditional classroom setting, ADHD learners, children who may not connect with conventional tutoring and students who thrive with reading support in an encouraging environment.

✅Small groups (4 students max per program)
✅Unmounted sessions; $65 per student per session (riding may be included with private lessons; $85 per student per session)
✅4 week program; 1 session per week; reading materials included
✅Spaces still available in the July and August programs
