Grip is one of the foundations for good biomechanical principals in your Ju Jitsu practice. Unfortunately it is often overlooked. In this seminar there will be a focus on improving your understanding of grip in your throws, locks and takedowns.

Weapons Defences and Disarms. An understanding of weapons defences and disarms is paramount to well rounded self protection knowledge. This potentially life saving info should be a priority in your personal safety training.

Dan VanExan has studied martial arts for over 3 decades.

A career specializing in law enforcement Use of Force (Self Defence) Instruction spanning almost 30 years gives Sensei VanExan a unique and well informed perspective on the subject of weapons defences.

We are thrilled to announce an upcoming event in honour of the Snow Tiger’s remarkable 50 plus years in our communities. This event will provide a unique opportunity to gather with like-minded individuals who share a passion for martial arts.

The event will feature dinner, a cash bar and a dynamic martial arts skills demonstration, showcasing the diverse talents within our community. The dress for the evening will be smart casual.

We believe that the martial arts skills demo is a pivotal aspect of the celebration, adding depth and richness to the overall experience. Here's an outstanding seminar coming up on Saturday, December 9!

1. Tai Chi is world famous for its health aspects. It's actually a
powerful martial art. I've met a number of instructors who are set in that old school mindset of Tai Chi as it always has been - a combat art. Sifu Greg Magwood is one of them. You're going to get the real thing.

2. In Kung Fu, we say that the hands talk. Sensei Langevin is deeply trained in edged and impact weapons. When he uses them, they talk. Get ready for a deeply interesting section of the seminar.

3. In old school martial arts we say 'mo lum yat gar' which translates as martial arts one family. You can see the truth behind this when you learn to spot techniques or groups of techniques that keep showing up in a variety of martial systems. Why is this? Because they work. Everyone wants the stuff that works. The last section of the seminar will delve into some of the most prominent ones.

We're back! After an absence of a number of years due to Covid and its logistical effects, our Black and Brown Belt Classes are back in action!

The tradition was started by Sensei Lynn Dafoe at his club in Belleville, Ontario. On the invitation by Sensei Jessye Nielsen, Sensei Mark Waters and Sensei Jeff Weese from the 8 Wing Trenton Martial Arts Club plus an earlier suggestion by long time Kung Fu practitioner Suzanne Bradley, we are starting up again on Sunday, October 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon
at 32 Buffalo Street (Air Crew Selection Centre) upstairs on the second floor.

If you aren't familiar with the location, it's at CFB Trenton on the south side of Dundas St. going towards Trenton right near the water tower which you can see from pretty well anywhere.

Come join us and work on anything you wish - basics, Kata, preparing for a test, Jiu Jitsu techniques, weapons, a new Kata or Kung Fu form, Chi Kung, sparring or fighting, etc.

See you on the 15th!
