It’s been a little while since I’ve facilitated Mindful Kids programs, yoga classes, or mindfulness and resilience workshops. Over the past year, I’ve intentionally stepped back from this work to make more space for my family and other parts of life that needed my attention.

Lately, I’ve been feeling that gentle pull to return to sharing more of what I love. With a little more space in this season of life, I’m excited to begin offering classes and workshops again. I’ll be sharing more about those opportunities soon! 🌿

In the meantime, I’ve started writing over on Substack through Wired for Resilience, a space to explore nervous system regulation, resilience, mindfulness, and the importance of connection and compassion.

My latest piece is especially close to my heart. It explores what happens when we begin to look beyond behaviour, recognize the stressors beneath the surface, and understand the powerful role that safety, co-regulation, and compassion play in learning and building resilience.

I’d love for you to give it a read.

On stress, co-regulation, restoration, and what becomes possible when we create the conditions for children to thrive.

Autumn found us. #🍂

Two months of building, approximately 96% finished, and just in time for our favourite season. 🍂☕️

The cabin is ready.
The coffee is hot.
The lake is quiet.

Autumn at the cabin. 🤎

August… cabin build & sunsets. Currently obsessed.

That subtle shift of feeling your nervous system flow between dysregulation to regulation. Mother Nature is incredible.

Spent the day mulching between the raised beds and soaking up some sunshine. It felt so good to just be in the dirt.

Raised beds make it easier to stay on top of weeds, and they’re also part of Step 5 of Shanker Self-Reg, restoring energy. When we tend to the things that refuel us, we show up better for everything else.

Getting the garden ready now is exactly that. It sets us up for a calmer summer, less to manage when we’re spending long days at the lake, and more energy to just enjoy it.

Growing our own food brings something deeper too. Food security is wealth.

The empty beds get filled today. What’s growing in your garden this season?

How’s that?

Cursive isn’t outdated, it’s actually a powerful tool for dyslexic brains. 🧠✍️

Connected letters reduce reversals, build motor memory, and engage both hemispheres of the brain in ways typing simply can’t.

And after a year of screens being pushed as the “solution”? Going analog is giving the brain exactly what it was missing: deep focus, sensory engagement, and a real hand-brain connection.

Sometimes the old way is the better way.

48 grams of protein! I’m not doing anything fancy. Greek yogurt, a shot of espresso, some beef isolate vanilla ices cream protein powder, a few Simple Mills Honey Cinnamon Sweet Thins, cacao nibs on top. That’s it. Some days that’s enough. Some days that’s everything. 💛 Building muscle, building resilience!
