So, I’m really looking forward to our second conversation coming tomorrow evening, June 3rd at 7pm eastern.

Last time, which was our first conversation, it felt really good to connect and talk about how we’re changing in midlife and through menopause.

We found out we’re not alone, and although we’re each having unique challenges and experiences, there are similarities and common ground.

Tomorrow, I’ve decided to address the hot topic of food and eating, because it comes up so often with friends, family, and coaching clients.

I recognize that this is a big topic, and we’ll likely need more conversations, but we’ll dip our toes in the water of what’s most concerning...

💛What should we focus on (and not focus on) when it comes to food in midlife?
💛Should we be counting calories, eating low fat, and lowering our carbs?
💛How can we feel good, and less stressed, when it comes to food?

Btw, like last time, this isn’t a webinar or a workshop - it’s a conversation where we can share (if we choose), listen, and support each other.

If you’ve been curious about joining, why not try it?

Just DM me “I’m in” and I’ll send you the details.

Looking forward to seeing you there,
Debbie 💛

The last couple of weeks have slowed me down in ways I wasn’t expecting.

Recovering from surgery has been humbling.

There are moments where I feel strong and hopeful… and moments where I feel frustrated, emotional, exhausted, and impatient with my progress.

And honestly, it’s made me think about how you are probably also rebuilding something right now.

Maybe it’s your health. Maybe it’s your confidence. Maybe it’s your career, relationship, identity, finances, or sense of purpose.

Life has a way of interrupting us.

Sometimes suddenly. Sometimes slowly.

And what I’ve realized is that rebuilding yourself after a setback isn’t just about “getting back on track.”

It’s about learning how to move forward when you no longer feel like the same person you were before.

That’s what this week’s podcast episode is about.

If you’ve been feeling stuck, discouraged, disconnected from yourself, or uncertain about what comes next, I think this episode will really speak to you.

Because rebuilding doesn’t mean you’re failing... It means you’re in the process of becoming someone new.

It’s been just over two weeks since my hip replacement surgery…

And I wanted to give you a little update from the recovery side of things.

First, some progress:

➡️ I’m walking with a cane, which is progress from the walker I was using for the first four or five days

➡️ There’s still some pain, but nothing that extra strength Tylenol can’t help with

➡️ I’m doing more steps each day, and I’m getting better at the squats, knee lifts, and glute bridges that are part of my rehab plan

➡️ I’m now back to using a regular toilet seat (it really it the small things :)

There’s no doubt that I’m truly amazed at how quickly the body can adapt and heal.

That we can be up and walking - even going up and down stairs - just hours after such a major procedure.

However, I’m also humbled by the pain and the time it can take to get where you’re wanting to go.

Before the surgery, I was looking forward to getting back to activities and a range of motion that was becoming more and more limited.

I didn’t spend a lot of time thinking of what would happen directly after surgery.

Before surgery, I heard things like, “You’re healthy and young, so you’ll be back to yourself in no time.”

I think I took that to heart, expecting the path to be short and easy.

But the truth is that it does take time, and you can’t minimize the challenge to getting back there.

It’s not just a physical challenge, there’s an mental/emotional component that I wasn’t truly prepared for.

It can sometimes feel like failure when things don’t go as quickly or smoothly as you thought they should.

This is of course is for any major thing you’re trying to tackle in life.

Getting to where you want to get is a process, and processes take time and are as individual as you are.

So, although I knew this theoretically before, it’s being put to the real test now.

Now I’m learning to accept my process, to notice and appreciate the small wins, and to try not to compare my process with someone else’s.

Thanks for all your encouragement,
Debbie 💛

So it’s happening...

Next week, I’m having hip replacement surgery.

Even typing that feels surreal.

Over the last few years, so many people have asked me questions about this decision.

Questions like…

✨What does hip arthritis actually feel like?
✨How did this even happen?
✨Aren’t you too young for this surgery?
✨Did you try everything else first?
✨How do you know when it’s really time?
✨Will I be able to exercise again… or even run?

So this week on the podcast, I’m answering all of it.

I’m sharing my full story, from the sharp pain I first felt on a run nearly four years ago, to the X-ray that showed severe arthritis, to everything I’ve tried since then to avoid surgery.

This episode is about much more than a hip replacement.

It’s about learning to listen to your body, it’s about making hard decisions, and it’s about choosing long-term quality of life over just pushing through.

If you’ve ever ignored what your body was trying to tell you, I think this conversation will resonate.

It’s been a winter. 🤪

And I feel a need to reconnect...

With myself, and with other women, like you, who are riding this crazy roller coaster called midlife.

I’m pretty sure, like me at times, you might be feeling like you don’t even recognize who you are anymore.

Not just physically, but also in how you feel, how you think, what you want, and how you show up in your life.

I know that this time is confusing, unsettling, and sometimes even lonely, even if everything looks “fine” on the outside.

So, I want to try something.

I’m putting together a small, intimate circle of 10 to 15 women for a free 60-minute conversation where we can actually talk about this openly.

It’s happening through Zoom, this coming Wednesday, April 22nd at 7pm Eastern time.

I just wanted to create a space to be real, to be heard, and to start making sense of what’s shifting for you and for me.

This isn’t a webinar, or a training.

It’s also not a place to vent or complain (I think there’s enough of that online.)

It’s a conversation, the kind that I feel is missing for many of us, and one that can perhaps help us make sense of all this and move forward.

If you’ve been feeling a bit off, disconnected, or like you’re in between versions of yourself, this is for you.

I don’t know exactly what this will become yet, but I have a feeling it could be something really special.

👉👉If you’d like to join us, just DM me or comment “Circle” and I’ll send you the details.

Looking forward to having you in the room this Wednesday,
Debbie 💛

I’ve been asking myself a question lately, a question I’m used to asking others...

✨What’s actually stopping me?

And it’s not about the easy answers like being busy, or having a lot going on, or even not knowing the “best” way to do something… but the real reason underneath all of that.

Because I’ve noticed how quickly my brain offers those explanations.

But when I slow down, I can see that they’re also keeping me exactly where I am.

And I know I’m not alone in that.

We say we want something to change like more self-care, exercising again, eating better, and showing up differently in our lives.

And yet, we don’t always move toward it.

Not because we don’t care, but because something in us is hesitating.

In this week’s podcast episode, I wanted to explore that a little more honestly.

If you’ve been feeling a bit stuck, or like you’re circling the same patterns, I think this one will resonate.
